Don't forget to get a Security Key for your account. You can get either a physical version or the digital one. Digital security keys are only available on Apple's App Store, but SWTOR will be releasing more for Android Marketplace and Blackberry's App Store.

Some additional information from swtor.com:

Will a BioWare representative ever ask for my Security Key information?

To help verify your account, a SWTOR Customer Service representative may ask for the serial number of your security key. This is to help them verify that you are the owner of the account.

Where do I enter the security key once I have generated one?

Once you generate a security key, you have 30 seconds to type the security key passcode into the “Security Key” section of your launcher when you log in.

How do I generate a security key passcode?

The security key passcode is the eight digit number displayed on the security key. Each number is unique and only valid for 30 seconds.

For the Physical Security Key, press the button next to the code screen. The passcode will be displayed on-screen.

For the Mobile Security Key, you must first log in with your account details. Once you do this, you can tap the “Key” icon to generate a security key passcode.

Where can I find the serial number of my Security Key?

For the Physical Security Key, the serial number is visible on the back of the security key.

For the Mobile Security Key, the serial number is assigned to you when you set up your mobile security key. To view it, launch the app, click the “Information” icon, click “Security Key Information” and the number will be listed under “Serial number”.

How do I register my security key to my account?

Go to your “My Account” page on swtor.com and click “Security Key” from the right-hand menu. This will take you to a page that will ask you to enter both your Security Key serial number and the code that your Security Key is showing.

How much is the Security Key?

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Physical Security Key will retail for $6.50/?8.99/€12.99 from Origin.com. Physical Security Keys are available now in North America, and will be available as soon as possible in other launch territories.

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Mobile Security Key can be downloaded for free from Apple’s iTunes Store (except in France; please see below), and coming soon from the Android Marketplace and BlackBerry Market.

Currently, the Mobile Security Key is only available in English and German language versions. We are working to provide a French language version as soon as possible.

What is the difference between the Physical and Mobile Security Keys?

The physical security key is a device that fits easily onto a key ring, and generates authentication passcodes. Each passcode is a one-time use code that will have to be entered along with your account password every time you log into your account (via the game client or website), provided that you have the physical security key registered to your account.

The mobile security key is a free downloadable app for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and will soon be available for both Android and BlackBerry devices. This app will generate a one-time use code that will have to be entered along with your account password every time you log into your account (via the game client or website), provided that you have the mobile security key registered to your account.

What is a Security Key?

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Security Key can refer to one of two things:

The Star Wars: The Old Republic Physical Security Key
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Mobile Security Key

How many security questions do I have to answer?

You are only required to answer three security questions. However, to increase your security we suggest that you answer all five questions. We highly recommend that you make a note of your security question answers. If you forget your answers, you may become unable to access your account, and will be required to call Customer Service to reset your questions and answers.

How do I set my security questions?

You can set your security questions and their answers at any time by logging into your account, clicking the “My Account” button and then selecting the “Security Questions” option from the right-hand sidebar.

What are security questions?

Security questions are specific questions that are asked when you wish to reset your password, or are logging into your account from a different computer. These questions pertain to facts about yourself, and are meant to allow for different answers from one user to the next.

How is my account protected from unauthorized access?

There are a number of different ways we try to protect your account from unverified access. While you have your password, we also ask that you answer between three and five security questions. You also have the option of using a security key, which will generate a temporary passcode that you can enter when you first open your game launcher.

P.S. Digital security keys are free, whereas the Physical Security Key is $4.00 USD.

I highly recommend getting this thing. Luckily, I ordered the CE edition and it comes with it. At the time, they had not announced the plans for a mobile one, or I would have just gotten that with the middle version edition. :P

At any rate, I bought one of the key fobs when my WoW account was compromised (not even my wife knew the password to my account, I am that anal about it and I am paranoid with anything online) and they still gained access. Unless they can hack a random hash that the fob puts out, I highly doubt you will have any access issues.

I never had a problem after I bought mine for my Blizzard account (which it covers everything Blizzard, not just WoW - I play SC II as well).

I'll probably be picking one up. My inactive WoW account has been hacked two times without me ever going to a phishing site or having any sort of spyware on my computer. It was hacked into while inactive. And my passwords are strong as heck, so there's something strange going on there.

I'm kinda sad there won't be a Windows Phone version of the mobile one, though. Ah well, my keychain could use some sprucing up I suppose.

Does anyone have any information on what the Security vendor sells in-game for people using an authenticator?
