Hello guys im having trouble with my illumination lights in my car (89 toyota corolla gt-s ae92) they simply dont work. Its frustrating because i cant see my speed at night -_-. Anyways ive looked at all my fused, they look good and ive tested the actual bulbs in the cluster they work to. So my last thought is that the switch is bad? u know... its the knob dial that you use to adjust your illumination brightness. Is there anyway i can bypass the switch or test it in anyway to see if its good? Anyways im stuck and dont know what else to do. Please any knowledge youd like to share?

If the bulbs work, and you know they work, it's either the relay or the switch it's self... I work at subaru, and with subaru's it's a relay instead of a fuse.

Do your taillights work when not being pressed? (The dim nighttime running brightness)

If they don't, it's another sign of the fuse. Normally they use big 30A+ fuses under the hood. Try switching them out with another same size fuse (cruise control, defroster, etc)
