All the official valve maps (except! 2fort, barnblitz, and foundry), including some koth maps and the like. Make it based on rtv; make ALL maps available for vote, pick whatever map has the MAJORITY OF VOTES (i don't care if only 2 people voted for a map, if everyone else voted for a different separate map the 2 person one wins. no more "not enough people voted" errors), make the previous three maps unable to be voted on (so we don't see... dustbowl, dustbowl, dustbowl, dustbowl for instance) Add certain additional maps- koth_harvest, nucleus, turbine, warpath on the vote menu.

And make sure the server is where foundry is right now... less lag the better. Problem solved, as people get bored of maps or we find maps that completely kill the server every time we can start blacklisting them and taking them out of the vote. Start with many, narrow them down later.

That's the plan with valvemaps, except with foundry and some arena (maybe). We have an arena plugin which will really help.

The votes seem to be dying down a bit, so I'm gonna summarize.

The point of these polls was not to prove how much valvemaps was missed necessarily (although they do make a point), but to show how little a second 2fort is favored. In the first poll, it came out to a whopping 3-4% in favor of switching it back to 2fort, and even when I added more options, it's now at a total of 1 vote out of all of the ones we have had here, or 1.67%.

I'd be fine with most of these servers, really. Valvemaps is great, so is Turbine, Dustbowl's alright, I've always wanted to try a fun map rotation, with spidEY's new plugin Arena would be great, even Gravelpit or Convoy I wouldn't mind.

However, 2fort is where I draw the line. It's not a bad map, but we already have a 2fort server exactly like it. Before we switched the servers, Valvemaps and our 1st 2fort were on the rise, but No Bots (As we call it) was sinking like a Rocket Propelled Anchor on Jupit...you get the point. So I still don't see why we kept it.

Regardless of that, my point is that any one of these servers would be great, but we only need one 2fort if we only have four servers. I understand that server filling was poor, but No Bots was no exception at all. I'd be sure to support it, I'm sure I could get help from Dalsia and Super and the division if you could give a different server a chance.

I agree that we need rtv. 90% of the servers that do well have it in there. I don't feel like we need to give people kicking potential, but if the majority wants a map to be changed that's better than the server emptying.


I also feel like we need more of the older maps like Frisky said. When I joined (granted, that was years ago and TF2 has changed), we had tons of maps on a rotation server. Gravelpit, Warpath, that weird Christmas one from a few years back with the Portal cubed presents and such. I feel like as great as our TF2 servers are, they can't keep up with the times. Anyway, that's my feelings on the matter.

Also, I second Dizco's question: what is up with the pings on the other servers? Ever since the move I've had yucky ping on every one but Foundry. Mesa needs me in full operation!

The servers except Foundry were moved to Kansas.

I remember ValveMaps was where I was recruited to join eGO. I feel like I developed some great bonds, both gameplay wise and friendship wise, with a lot of the regulars on there. I would love to see it come back. Dusbowl and Turbine could be included on the rotation there, as opposed to a 24/7 server. I also feels like it adds much more variety than our other 24/7 maps.
