24/7 metro and what it's become...

Funny thing is I've seen many servers pop up that you can't use the RPG/SMAW/M320. Never have gone into one. Just wanted to let everyone know that it can be done.

I wish we can tweak the server settings more. Example: Having Hardcore HP in regular. Now that would be interesting.

First: It's been said before: EA distinctly says you aren't allowed to restrict weapons. If they're getting away with it, great, but eGO would rather not take the risk.

Second: I know it was looked into, but since we have two hardcore servers and two normal, I can understand why the settings aren't tweaked; in this case, it keeps everyone happy and creates an equilibrium.

First: We shall never take the risk this I know, but I actually want to see these rules.

Second: I beg to differ. Seems lately our servers have fallen to a weak willed state as of late. I shall type no more.

What I meant was tweaking the HP to 60(default HC) and not 100(default normal). In other words its Softcore. The rest of the settings are default except amount of tickets per map of course. I've been on servers late night after our servers usually die. The servers that I played on have the HUD showing HP at 60% and the gameplay is as a hardcore server. I bet this would take care of the difference between regular and hardcore.
 
I really see no need to constantly "tweak" the server settings like this....can't we just play the game the way it was meant to be played?
 
Just putting it out there, the servers that supposedly "ban" m320/smaw/rpg, don't. You might get kicked after awhile, but nothing comes from it.
 
Who knew...

posting someone's 13,000 kills with the m320 on metro would bring up a 7 page discussion and counting.

what happened to you kerak, you used to like normal over HC, and softcore is actually normal mode with FF on and kill cam off. but adding a 60 hp cap on a normal mode would create tons of problems with snipers since spotting is on so that wouldnt work as well as you would like unless spotting was disabled
 
You see guys. This is called a discussion, where people share opinions and politely disagree and debate on topics. No need to lock a thread over a little dispute, now we have a better understanding of what we want as a division of that server.

I personally love metro, but not the server configurations that we're using right now. I suggest toning down to 32 players, 700 tickets, and regular respawn time and watch that server fill up.

Playing a game with eGO HC clan members mostly. Oh and it depends on the gameplay. I like 1 shot kills with shotguns instead of EPIC fails on normal. Every other gun I would go to normal.

Reason for softcore is for the people who like qq. Mostly on the EA forums who are the non-members which we need more to play on our servers, so we can keep them full late night to early morning for we to enjoy full servers all the time.

I would just like to see more custom than default.

Yup... BF3 is not meant to be played with 60hp. =/

I found this out after a 30-7 round earlier today in our one of our HC servers and all 7 deaths were from mid way stair-rail jumping....leading to bad lucks death dogtags. All 7 deaths i had full 60 hp too lol.

I think i've died more from suicides than people actually killing me. =S

yea i havent even played 1 second in a HC server yet, /flex but i do agree with the shotgun thing, slug/frags are not always easy kills in normal, but i mostly play flechette shotties and when i get the usas i probably will do frags with it

Frag has been terrible since the nerf and it's looking at a 2nd nerf at the upcoming aggressive recon patch. Flechette is the way to go.
 
What's the idle timer on 24/7 metro set at? Everytime join the server and decide to idle while waiting for people to join...i get kicked a few mins after i leave the keyboard.
