These are just some posts I found on reddit by a user named granto, pertaining to becoming a better player in BF3 and FPS games in general. Each Thread is a Huge wall of text so if u do not plan to read a lot then don't bother clicking the links.

I only just read the first one, but, damn, this should be required to play BF3. I hate when someone tries to execute one of these, and the whole team does nothing.

Thanks for posting this, Vert.

Absolutely great posts. Easy to read and incredibly informative. Read all 3 if you get the chance.

Going to read the rest later, but situational awareness IS the key to battlefield. Knowing where enemies are coming from, what flags to capture to secure a part of the map, learning flanks and what weapons to use on certain ranges is what it's all about.

Read the whole thing, have a few tips for the game tonight from this, will discuss over practice.

Just finished the second one. Have to go get ready for work, I'll read the third one in the bathroom later :):):):)

tmi dude tmi. Anyways I think me reading this will really help me out when moving to the objective. Thanks Vert.

I know these articles talk about gameplay and strategy, but I wanted to add that one easy way to increase your situational awareness is to get a good pair of Headphones. Spend the $60, $80, $120 on a good pair of headphones if you plan to play competitively and want to excel in an FPS. They put footsteps in the game for a reason, and you can also hear other players footsteps not just your own. With a good headset you can tell how close and from what direction an enemy is approaching you from.

I haven't played competitively in a long while, but when I was play Cal-i in DoD (pre-source), a good pair of headphones made you feel like you were wall hacking at times. If crouched or not moving you can hear people run above/below you, behind a wall, you could tell what surfaces people were running, wood vs concrete.

So don't just rely on sight, and your mini-map and the MAV/spotting. listen :D

since day 1 I've tried to vary the guns I use. I've 100+ kills with most of them but often there are guns that I just prefer over other and I just keep using them. And then there are guns as LMGs that I absolutely refuse to use. Then there's engineer class which I find useless in infantry only servers. I should probably go out more in vehicle server and explore the class more.

should probably use pistols other than G18 (supressor). the pistol is sadly an easy mode. should also try shoutguns other than USAS lol

I've used all guns unlocked to date. I still prefer certain guns, but I can play decently with almost any of them. For example, I used to hate the KH2002...I love that thing now!

I can't read. Vert, could you please create a powerpoint presentation for each link with pictures and exploding visuals.

Thanks.
