Wow. What a vast array of choices offered here... Too bad I didn't see:
"Work midnight shift so 3 am is a normal hour to be up"
"Full schedule only leaves late night to game"
"parenting takes up day time - night time is for MY time"
"Why would I answer a lame poll that targets people not on your schedule"
I'm sure you get the drift. LOL
I think your little list of options was some what insulting. Not only to the people in different time zones.. But to anyone who isn't on your idea of what a scheduled day should be.
I happen to have a life: A husband, a career, two kids, currently pregnant, a constantly ringing phone, and still try to find time to check the forums and log into the servers. I'm self employed, working out of my home office, and am up sometimes all night long editing, rewriting, re-editing, then finally turning in my work in time to get paid. When I have downtime, I check out the forums. But, normally, if I have enough spare time to check out the forums (And one of the council hasn't accidentally banned me from the forum) I'll only stay a few, then hop into one of the servers. Seriously, the people who have a 9-5 life amaze me. I can never confine my work to just an 8 hour day. There's some days where I'm working from the time I wake up, through dinner, and then I take a quick nap just so I can finish what I'm doing by 6 am. Plus, I deal with a lot of clients who are overseas. My crazy hours actually make it work, so that I can contact them first thing in the morning *their time*, and be able to send drafts in so that I can get a response before I go back to bed.
A better question than "why are people posting so late at night", is ...
"Why do some people have 240 posts on a forum they've only been on for 2 weeks?"
