Need to reset HUD

A few days ago, I installed a Counter-Strike font on my computer, and my entire in-game heads-up display switched to it. This has happened once before, however only until after this time did I realize it was because I installed the font.

My HUD used to look like this.

After trying to solve it, I've got this.

I've tried verifying my game cache, deleting my cstrike folder, and installing new HUDs, but none of them solve the problem. I'm thinking it must be a problem with my system (the first time this happened, I didn't bother solving it, but it did happen to get fixed after I did a reinstall of Windows 7).

Any ideas are appreciated.

I had that once and I'm on XP so it's not your system. Steam cloud may have corrupt information stored, So when you delete your CStrike it reloads it again, Which includes the bad GUI.

Right click on the steam icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and select settings.
Then go to Cloud and Downloads.
Then disable steam cloud
Then see if its working. If not delete CStrike again and try.

I did the same thing. Counter-Strike installs a special font that has icons for the weapons replacing letters. You need to entirely reinstall CS:S. If that doesn't work, back up your other games, completely uninstall them AND Steam. And then reinstall.

Thanks for your input, guys (and girls ),

I tried disabling Steam Cloud, which did not help. I'm not really interested in reinstalling all of my games, so I guess I may have to live with the weird font for now.

you have to go into game scripts and make sure the manifest does not choose the font... If you don't get it than I have to explain later (vacation)

Hey guys, I got this solved. I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to update with how I did it:

I went to Fonts in the Control Panel (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Fonts), located the Counter-Strike font, and clicked Delete at the top of the window. I feel like I had already tried this, but it worked this time, and my HUD is normal again

delete your cstrike folder, the game will make a new one next time you start it up, thats how i got rid of my custom skins and gui, just back your maps and anything else up
