Locked Great Gift Pile objectives?

I have And Yet It Moves on Steam, so I thought I'd try to get the objective for it today. After playing for over an hour, I realized I was doing the objective wrong; however once I figured out what to do, I found that I wasn't getting anything from doing the objective.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing the objective right, but regardless: It has a lock icon on it. What does this mean? Is it not going to unlock no matter what?

I also see a blue lock on a Spiral Knights objective.
