I got BC2 a few days ago, and when I took out the M1 Garand I was dumbfounded. The BC2 WWII weapons are the exact ones from Medal of Honor: Airborne. I don't know if this has been pointed out before.

It's a WWII weapon. I wouldn't expect it to change all that much.

It is the fact that they are the exact same model and skins. Everything on them are in the same place, scratches and all. That wouldn't be the case if Dice made them their self.

Oh wow this is sad. These skins didn't even deserve to be reused.
They didn't look good in the first game.

Honestly, I dont see it. Yes they are similar, extremely similar... but they are the same weapons, clearly modeled on real world weapons that are old and have not changed in some time. It is understandable to me. Even if they reused assets from another game, whats the big deal? They look fine to me.

Also, the only weapon shown in the screenshots you posted where you can make out any real detail is the garand, and there are definitely some differences in the texture, subtle yes, but they do not appear identical to me.

Ok. First off, they are being held at different angles and are in different lighting. Second, the wood and scratches on the weapons are in the exact same place, which would be almost impossible if they made their own. Next, the M1 Garand has the same wood grain and the same wrong rear sights.

Who...cares? Do you have any idea how many games use borrowed sound effects? Check out the explosion sound effect from a grenade in CS 1.6, it might sound familiar. I've even heard it in a movie or two before.

I dont want to argue cause I personally dont think its a big deal. But if you look at parts of the metal there is one part in BC2 with vertical streaks, then immediately below the metal there are differences in the grain. Yes there are a lot of similarities in the grain in other places, but there are enough differences I see to lead me to believe that its not an *exact* copy. Even if it was, does it really affect your enjoyment of the game in any way?

Lol this thread... The response is basically saying its ok to accept old textures and models because game developers are too lazy to come up with something better or more realistic. Nice.
