My in-laws bought my family an xbox for xmas. Whats the first game i should buy. Keep in mind that i already have bf3 and skyrim on the pc. Looking for something that gonna have some longevity. Has a good story/action and good multiplayer. Lookin for suggestions on all three reqs and one that combines all three. We did get the kinect so. A good title for that as well.

If you can forgive the lack of multiplayer both Dead Space games are great also both of the Batman Arkham games. LA Noire is a pretty big time sink and Rage is going for cheap these days. Deus EX: HR had a pretty good singleplayer, but I played it on the PC so I have no idea how it plays on the 360.

There is also the Gears of War series which has a strong Online component. Halo Reach also has a strong Online following...though the singleplayer is pretty mediocre.

Super Street Fighter 4 AE 2012 and Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and a fightstick.

red dead redemption is really good game and should be cheap now, still upset they never made a pc version of that game

This tops my suggestion list, too. Also upset at the lack of a PC version, which I'd play the crap out of starting right now if it existed.

Tenchu Z. Endless fun stabbing people, I think I have over 80 hours on that game.

Armored Core 4 Answer. This is most epic game.

Red Dead Redemption. GTH (Grand Theft Horse, which is basically what it boils down to).

Rayman Origins best game of the year.

Get Mass Effect 1 and 2. They are great games with an amazing story-line. Unfortunately they do not have a multiplayer, BUT the 3rd one which is due out in March will.

I would personally suggest a Halo game if you like fps'. Halo Anniversary came out back in November, It is the same story line and game play as the original Halo: combat Evolved game that came our 10 years ago, just it has been graphically updated to the graphics Halo: Reach had, It also should come with a Halo Reach multiplayer disc that already has all of the DLC. It was $40 when it came out because they didn't want to charge full price for a game that wasn't technically 'new'. Probably the coolest thing is the ability to change the graphics from the new style back to the original graphics from 10 years ago by pressing one button heh

Batman: Arkham Asylum (and City I'd have to assume, still haven't played it D: )
Great game even if you're not a batman fan.

I don't own an Xbox but rather a ps3. Although I really want to play the new Halo, might just borrow my friends console to do it.

Agreed on Halo Anniversary edition, it is a treat to play it again with the new amazing graphics. I literally sat in the first level for ever just switching the graphics back and forth!

Also have to chime in and say Red Dead Redemption. It was the game of the year last year and for good reason. There's just nothing else like it, has a great story and great multiplayer.

The default Kinect game that most people enjoy is Kinect Adventures. Your family will enjoy that the most.

if you like sport games (Some of your family might like sports too), I recommend getting the 2K games, and EA Sport games.

I have NBA2K12, and its a BLAST. (I play Basketball in RL)

Also, if you have a son, (I don't know how old you are) and he starts to get hardcore into the xbox, I recommend buying him these.

Its not a HACK, but it improves your aim in common games like BF3, COD, and so on.

I use these on my controllers, and they improve ALOT on your KD.

Hope you enjoy what I said :)

Geometry Wars 1 & 2 are amazingly addictive games. The Gears of war series is pretty good too.Red Dead Redemption is one of the best games I've ever played, I highly recommend it.

RDR was pretty awesome, there aren't many cowboy/wild west type games out there so it was a nice change of pace, especially since it was so well done

PS, I have a rule that if you start a thread like this you have to post and let us know what your decision was!
