Here’s me coming home to an average late night.

I have my setup and I’m ready to relax for a few minutes and focus on what I have learned today.. So i place my phone and knife inside the hand crafted phone holder I carved out of Pine wood at my cabin in Westcliffe, Colorado.

Here is the cabin.

I then get situated.

I then draw my attention to the keyboard I have and begin to practice the 4th measure to “Ben Folds - The Luckiest”

I begin to practice…

Here is the song I have challenged..

I’ve been learning this song since christmas, and so far I have the first measure mastered.

Here is a video of me practicing the first measure, not fully mastered, 5 minutes into me learning the song by ear.

WARNING: Volume loud ( I didn't edit at all... )

A few more months, and the song is mine.

I actually met him at the DNV here when he was getting a drivers license. It was a very funny experience... I went to get my drivers licence, and he was there with his mother while he was getting his drivers license renewed.

I saw him and said.. "Ben folds... Is that you?..."

He replied "Ohh man, this is embarrassing..."

His mother uninterrupted "NOW NOW... LITTLE BENNY HERE NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF BUISNESS!!"

Ben then said, "Man, my mother will never let go..."

I laughed. "lol - man, my mother is the same way.."

We both laughed...

I was paralyzed with nervousness and finally asked...

"Can I get your autograph?"

Ben Folds smiled and said,

"Dude, of course man.."

(The most random event, at the most random time, led me to my favorite musician, at the most perfect time, during the beginning of my high-school days... No-one ever believed me and I can never forget the day... :/ )

I lived in the same town as him in Nashville growing up.
wikipedia.com said:
Folds eventually got a music publishing deal with Nashville music executive Scott Siman who saw Folds open for musician Marc Silvey (as well as playing bass for Silvey's band Mass Confusion), and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue it in 1990. He played drums for a short stint in Jody's Power Bill, headed by Millard Powers, Will Owsley, and Jody Spence. Jody's Power Bill was later renamed The Semantics. Folds did not take a creative role in the band. He, again, attracted interest from major labels. He ended up playing drums there as a session musician.

Do any of you like ben folds? or heard this song.. BEN FOLDS IS EVERY PERSON!! lol
This dude is so talented. and hilarious! WEIRD ALL IS IN HIS VIDEO!! (imagine to today's standards, that this video was made all by himself and uploaded to YouTube. song, recording, and editing.) Not a lot of people did that back then.
