Flying in BF3

<div style="width: 550px; text-align: center" align="center">I love to fly. Whether traveling for business or soaring unassisted in my dreams, the thrill of leaving the ground amazes me. I'm sure that there are members of eGO who are actual pilots, at the controls of these fantastic machines, and can verify that it's an experience like non-other.

The closest I'll come to being in command is in a video game. Maybe this is why I enjoy Battlefield 3 so much. While leaving the runway I free-look over my shoulder and watch the ground move further away as I scan the area for possible targets. Usually a far better pilot shoots me out of the sky quickly, but it doesn't deter me from getting back in the cockpit.

I've even been known to join an empty air map server just to fly around. Those of you who have played BF1942 with me know this. I hope I've motivated BF3 players who stick to the ground to try getting above the trees and rooftops. If you've yet to buy the game, put it on your list. You won't be sorry.

I'll be looking for you in the clouds.

I am terrible at air to air combat. But I can usually take out tanks on the ground. And If I get disabled I just fly straight up and bail out, seeing my jet explode under me and being flung high in the air seeing the whole battle.
 
Starting today I'm gonna be chillen in this map, I'm pretty good at flying but need more practice, and it's time to try out some new keybindings
 
I love flying in Battlefield too. One of my favourite things to do in BF2 was fly around on Wake Island. I can't wait until I get Back to Karkand, so I can experience they're new Wake Island.
 
Give me the game for my good actions for eGO, and I'll fly with y'all :)
 
While I don't own or play BF3, I am a fan of Flight Sims. When I'm just bored of other games or just relaxing for a couple hours, I'll pull out Flight Sim X and fly a long 747 flight.
 
I have a glider pilot license. I agree, the feel of being airborne is unbeatable, especially when you are alone in the airplane!

Real men fly with a mouse.

I join the air maps server sometimes when it's empty just to fly the attack helicopters around. You can really whip them around hard.
 
I used to be epic at flying in bf2.... bf3 is too much more realistic like hitting a tree in bf2 you would bounce off in bf3 you die.......
 
Practice, Practice, Practice...I use to be awful at it, especially air to air. Just keep accepting defeat and getting shot down, eventually you will figure it out.

Its even harder in HC....cause its so hard to find the enemy aircraft if they are good.

All very true, good points. Air maps is the best place to practice, but hardcore is truly a challenge - you can tell if you're being fired upon from AA or a jet behind you, and it's harder to bank the turns.
