Jail rule changes, Please read

Understood. No more mister mean guy warden. :) Make it fun for the poor, oppressed t's.

Happy New Year btw.

I'm not sure why you guys keep dumbing down jail to make it easier for the general public. The orders are given every single round at the same time; if you are not smart enough to pay attention for those 40 seconds then you deserve to die. The whole I-should-live-because-I-wasn't-listening thing is incredibly old.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few unfortunately....:( I will have to argue that CTs are just as bad at listening to orders as well so that's one benefit to be gained. Mics can also be bad as well, so I'm glad at least there is no confusion.

I think there is some benefit, hopefully more chances for rebelling because they aren't getting killed leaving their cells/

Kay. History lesson here: from the beginning of jail break, one of two things happened at the beginning of every single round. Either no orders were given, and the jail was chaos, or orders were given. I'm not sure why you guys keep dumbing down jail to make it easier for the general public. Let me give you an example. Say that I tell you that every 5 seconds I will punch you in the face. 5 Seconds go by and I punch you in the face. 5 more seconds go by and I punch you in the face again. If you don't duck after 5 more seconds, you deserve to get punched in the face.

Just my 2 cents.

Flip you're missing the point. With multiple people talking at the same time those orders go unheard by many people.

This is the way it's going to be. In the end we put up our servers for the general public. We were all pubs once and I'd like more people to feel welcome on our servers.

Yeah, jail is a listening game, but only to a certain extent. There comes a point where jail becomes a big game of technicalities. I cringe when I hear "shift walk back out of cells, turn 270 degree to the right, then turn 90 degrees to the left." Not because I don't know how to listen to orders, but because I know this isn't what makes jail fun, for anyone.

The funny thing is that the whole "90 degrees to the right" thing was started a while back as a way to make the Ts holsters visible to the CTs so that they could check for guns. However, it evolved into a desperate means of killing Ts. It shows what direction the server has been going in.

Taking away this order is a step in the right direction, imo. I'm not fond of there being required starting orders at the beginning of the round, though.

Jail is for fun, period. There is no need to ever kill the Terrorists right when they get out of their cells. It reduces the fun of being a Terrorist, and it's a cheap way for the Counter-Terrorists to win the rounds.

If you can't be creative with orders, or use the many games in a jail map intended for eliminating Terrorists, you shouldn't be a warden.

Pubs make our servers what they are. As bear has said, we were all pubs once. And waiting 10 minutes to respawn because you were 1 degree the wrong way is not only uninviting, but illogical; taking into consideration the main point of jail: fun.

Also just to verify: The "When I say/type go" thing isn't against the rules still, correct?

Alotta people keep saying it is, some saying it isn't..meh

Thats fine is long as you type go. You just cant say that and do "no" or "so" or something to try and trick them in going.

mmk. And if someone mistakenly typed "gio" instead of "go", would that still mean "go" and not be a means for tricking the T's and having the CT's kill them for it?

I tend to hit the I key on accident on occasion when typing go, hence why I ask. :P

Sounds good. Thanks again, and a special thanks for all the work you guys have done! :)

I suppose there are two kinds of people that play video games. There are people that play for competition and people that play for fun, and these two kinds of people will always clash. It's tough to make rules that appeal to both; because I'm more competitive, I like the game to be tougher, that way when I do something successfully I get more from it.

I'm not sure what you're talking about Meades with creativness; this rule is making wardens give orders one way and one way only, which sucks creativity out of giving any order. Wardens have a unique way of giving orders, and regulating that will destroy creativeness, despite if it's "hard"

Instead of forcing wardens to give certain orders, why don't you just make them say the orders twice, or make it a rule to repeat orders if asked?

I can't see how this is such a big deal. This only effects the first 3 seconds of jail gameplay. That hardly interferes with a wardens ability to be creative in the game. You have 9 minutes and 57 seconds to be creative and eliminate the terrorists.

The reason this rule change is in place is so it actually gives people a chance to play and enjoy a round of jail instead of being killed, cheaply, within the first 5 seconds.

So the wardens can not specify a direction for the t's to face? I've heard some say "Shift walk backwards, out of cells, knifing distance, face away from cells, and freeze by 505"
I'm assuming this is no longer allowed?

Honestly, the begging orders should never result in a t's death unless the t is rebelling. The t's are not a threat if they are facing the wrong direction or accidentally bump their mouse or hit the space bar or crouch.

What I'm saying is, unless they are blatantly rebelling, why kill them? They are no threat. How is it fun being a CT and just killing Ts for doing next to nothing wrong? Would you be upset if you were a T? If the answer is yes, then you probably shouldn't do it.

It ain't a big deal bra; like I said, it's just my two cents. I'm not arguing and if I was giving out a harsh tone then I apologize, but I still don't agree with it.

Unfortunately like any big rule changes not everyone will be happy. I think the decision made will be beneficial making it more accessible and less technical (always a good thing). For the majority of players it will be of benefit like bear said earlier.
