This is simply correlation. Now, if MLP had been cancelled with absolutely zero chance for its future, I would be a little bit upset. But not nearly as sore as I am with how a certain network killed a certain truly excellent franchise approaching the conclusion of its (let us assume) 20-year life.

But somehow, this gets renewed. This, which is not an established collection of shows and movies nearly twenty years old and enjoyed by people around the world, which is not about to reveal one of the most suspenseful plot elements in a piece of fiction I have seen, which does not have two movies lined up for it that will finally bring a satisfying conclusion to the series for once and for all, gets renewed.
And it certainly wasn't cancelled in a way that didn't even let the people working on it know unless they checked the network's Twitter account.

It just baffles me. How does the universe screw up so much.

This is honestly the only topic that makes me rage.

SGU was bad. No where near as awesome as SG1...

It did not surpass SG-1 at its height, true. But SGU was getting to be pretty damn good such as that I was enjoying watching it more than I had enjoyed watching the later seasons of SG-1.
They just had to have, quite honestly, an extreme letdown of an introduction with the first half of season 1.

Let us not also forget that, had SGU succeeded, we would have gotten the last SG-1 movie and an Atlantis movie and potentially even another season of Atlantis (that or more Atlantis movies).
