You need to buy a key to unlock a crate which in turn has a chance to give you an extra friend slot, which is not tradeable, but can be painted or crafted

yeah, the cap thing was mostly an error on my part since i was trying to friend someone who was already capped and I thought it was me lol.

I've got 237 and I've been full a few times. I think it's around 250/260. I'm pretty sure the cap is raised to 300 when you connect your facebook account, not positive though.
