BF3 problems

Ok so I bought BF3 about 2 weeks ago, I downloaded it and started it up. I played one match in multiplayer first and then started the campaign. It was working fine but then after a couple of days of playing multiplayer and campaign on and off I noticed the game wasn't running smoothly anymore. It was sluggish and slow. The character moves like 5 seconds later after I move the mouse. It is basically unplayable. I tried turning down the graphic settings but I don't think that helped much. I believe it is due to my cpu because it is only a dual core but I am not so sure. It is an AM2+ cpu and I am wondering if I could get a quad core one and if that would help? If so, can I get a used one for it to be cheaper? Any other info needed, let me know. Thank you.

These are my computer specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 7750 Dual-Core Processor, ~2.7GHz
Mobo: ASUS M3N72-D
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB
Memory: DDR2 4GB

I played with a dual core and the same video card you have now, and It played like a sluggish turd stuck in a giant toilet.


I upgraded to beast mode (i7 but any quad would work) and it runs like a champ now.

The game still does that lovely crash thing that they seem to can't fix but at least it runs good for me now.



So I would say new mobo, quad core, and 8gb ram and you are good to go.

hmm could be a combination of the dual core and the 4GB memory, most likely you need a faster processor. What settings are you running the game on ?

I tried the lowest settings it would go but it still was sluggish :/

Is there any stuttering, or visual artifacts (weird things appearing where they shouldn't)?

Also, what are your temperatures while in-game? It is very likely that your dual-core won't be able to run it. I can't help you pick one out however, I am an Intel guy.

nope just really slow and the only temperatures i know of while I'm ingame is my gpu which gets to about 55 deg celsius according to evga precision

Trust me, the dual core is the problem. I speak from ragexperience.

Newegg i5 2500k for around 210. If you don't have that much I would say go with amd. I have a 1090t six core amd.. And I can run it on high to ultra with 70fps to 35 wih a 460
