Playing without the UI

interesting, no ui takes away the friendly blue triangle... I would imagine you did a lot of team killing until you got used to actually looking at what they are wearing...

Quite the opposite really, I actually hesitate a lot more before pulling the trigger and I rarely take long shots without at least a 4x scope unless I'm damn sure only the enemy is where I'm shooting. The other big downside is that you can't see to switch kits unless you bring the UI back up, so choose wisely before you start.
 
hmm interesting but I see no real advantage of playing without UI other than maybe thinking before you shoot. On the other hand, I might end up killing half of my team also lol
 
this would be helpful...if you could differentiate from friendlies and enemies. But since everyone wears default camo or spec ops black :P, kinda ruins it. Maybe if people wore different camos, then spotting friend from foe would be easier, therefore making this useful. who knows
 
Make no mistake, there is no advantage whatsoever playing this way, just better looking and without the distraction of the UI. As far as spotting opponents is concerned, what camo they have equipped doesn't make much of a difference for me, I'm looking at the character model a lot more than the texture to ID who I should kill.
 
This is definitely the best way to record, it makes the game seem so much more realistic. However, would I personally want to play this way? Hell no.

That's pretty cool. Would be neat to play on a server like that - with the UI shutoff for everyone. Things would get interesting quick!

I am making a BF3 montage... Not sure if I want to record with or without the UI..

I've got a video that I've yet to do anything with where I joined a game late, disabled the UI, spawned in, and immediately wiped out a squad of 4 right before the end. Brought up the UI again to find that I had a 0-0 score. Took me a second to realize that that squad was US team, just like me...
