My thoughts exactly. 1942 was simple and years of fun.
The only thing I dislike about normal mode is spotting. It's a great idea, it just needs more complexity to add realism.
Hardcore is much more prone to snipers/campers. 1 shot kills make it an extremely overpowered class. Which is great if you are a sniper, but it gets frustrating. Limiting the recon class to 2-3 would make sense, but that leads to frustrated players that want to play recon and nothing else.
Another reason I like normal, you have to know how to aim to be good at any of the classes. Headshots are very easy to get and bring enemies down just as fast as hardcore.
Well BF has always a sort of spotting, sure I would have preferred that they have taken the BF2 spotting where you put a marker on the map where enemies might be or the BF2142 spotting which used a spotting helmet that would spot enemies if you had that specific equipment on, either at least spotting isnt as silly as BC2's was
