Somethings to consider about the festive hats.

First, let's look at the estimated values of some promos that have been around for a while.

  • HOUWAR - Valued at 8-9 Buds (1/15/2012).
  • Max's Severed Head - Valued at around 2.5 Buds (1/15/2012).
  • Earbuds - Valued at around 24 Keys (1/15/2012).
  • Bills hat - Valued at 8-10 keys depending on paint (1/15/2012).

Now let's check their rarities, granted this isn't what truly determines value, it does help.

  • HOUWAR - Currently 268 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.
  • Max's Severed Head - Currently 3141 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.
  • Earbuds - Currently 13957 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.
  • Bills hat - Currently 18961 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.

Now on to the three new items, since their values are constantly changing I'm not going to put down a price for them.

  • Ebenezer - Currently 2491 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.
  • B.M.O.C. (Santa Hat) - Currently 2825 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.
  • Holiday Headcase - Currently 189 known to exist (1/15/2012). Source.

In closing, do not hold on to the idea that the new hats are going to level out where they are at now. Also, DO NOT pay the same price for things based on rarity, this is only to show that the new festive items show potential to be very valuable.
However, If you have some you may want to hold onto them for a little while.

Unrelated note: This is my first thread I have ever posted and hope it doesn't violate any rules. I spent quite some time writing it.

These items are not only based on how rare they are, the are also based on how much people actually want them. I remember when Max heads were 5 buds cuz everyone wanted one and now its dropped bad.

Yeah, I meant to mention this more clearly in the post, for example the pyro hat the Infernal Impaler is very rare, however still only goes for a couple ref.
