Well as some of you knew I was going to be away for a bit. I've made my travel from Virginia Beach, VA to Manama, Bahrain, and with the incredible unawesomeness of my connection here I seriously doubt I'll get any gaming in.
The house they put me up in is nice enough, 4 bedroom villa for 3 people with all the basic amenities needed to survive. Brought my bicycle, and I don't have a car right now so I'm a peddling fool for now. Work is about 15 minutes away so all is not too bad.
I did get a chance to explore some on Friday, and got out to the Bahrain International Karting center http://bahrain-karting.com/ and I made driving a go-kart at 50 mph look very complicated. Only crashed twice and I walked away with all my fingers and toes so I write that off as a success. The guy I am taking over from, took a nice spill, and got some road rash on his shoulder from falling out of the kart after a hairpin turn. I told him to harden up, get back in the kart and finish the race.
For those interested I'll post up a pic or two on this thread occasionally, and sort of keep a running journal for those interested.
