where/what type (copper, aluminum, etc) of pot for a am2+ board? or is there a universal pot i can get? ... i have a 940be in the spare computer, so when my taxes are done im thinking of having a little fun. Also, where can i get LN2? I know where i can get DICE, would that be at the same place?
1. My pot is a commercially available one. F1 Gemini. If you follow overclocking, you have probably heard of K|ngp|n. He is the one that sells the Gemini. He also has a couple other pots depending on what you want to bench. The F1 Gemini and F1 Dragon both have universal mounts that work with 1156/1155/1366/AMD. He also sells another pot, the Venom, which is a bit cheaper, and is much bigger, sicne it it designed for AMD (AMD does not cold bug as much as intel, so you can pretty much get it as cold as you want: ergo, bigger pot= more cold)
His stuff is a bit pricey, but they are some of the best pots you can buy.

Koolance also makes a pot. It isn't great for LN2, since the plastic can crack if you are not careful, but for DICE, it is a great beginning pot.

People like Duniek can also make pots on request. Duniek pots typically have a reputation as being a bit cheaper than the competition, but you get what you pay for.
the best way to find commercially availible stuff like noted above is 2nd hand on for-sale forums.
Another way to acquire a pot is to make it yourself. Many people go this route as it ccan be (much) cheaper than buying one. I won't go into too much detail, but basically, you weld some copper pipe together and end up with what looks like a pot.
2. Typically pots are made of copper base, with aluminum top. Cheaper pots (many of Duniek's pots) are all aluminum as it is cheaper.
3. I get Dry Ice from Safeway (grocery store). Many drug stores/grocery stores/hunting/ fishing stores sell it. It is often used to keep food cold, so those kinds of places have it.
4. LN2 is a bit trickier. Since It doesn't have a practical application to non-professionals, it is harder to find. Most people get it from one of three places:
a)Welding supply stores. Apparently LN is used with welding somehow. Beats me if i know, but these kinds of stores often have it.
b) A specialty store like AirGas or Praxair. These stores pretty much just sell gases and liquids like LN2, helium, etc.
c) laboratories. Many professions like Entomology, use Liquid nitrogen, so often labs where such people work have it.
5. Another thing to consider is transport. For dry ice, this is not a problem, you just need a cooler. For LN2, you need a Dewar, or other cryogenic vessel. Dewar's are massively expensive for some reason, so some people rent them. Your best bet is to find used/dented ones on eBay/CL
