hi,

this post can be closed if deemed in aportiate , but me and some other members of the clan and some people on other server i have asked me. Why dont we have a reailsm server, by this i mean blood and gore and differen classes such as medic and airstrike. this would mean that clan woukd cater for all the needs that dod chucks at us.

even if we cant have a full server of 32 maybe one of 24 should be sufficnet and this could in turn be the home map for unit 7 as KK members do not want the mods on there server what is understandble.

Please vote to see if this is a good idea or not to have a server like above.

I think it should be considered as an option..

Just a "fun" server along the current eGO package.

Question is if it's achievable (financial, organization wise etc)

that'd be sick, like the airstrike stuff like C.O.D. does where u can call in planes and a medic to heal ppl. but that'd take valve's work and doubt unless u have a potition they wouldn't do it

It all good to say that the server would be a good idea but u must remember that all these things have to be paid for.The current cost is like over 900 dollars for the month and that is a lot of money. Alot of the good ideas like the gun game server and UK servers were thought as good ideas but failed miserably.

Personaly id love to see one of these realism servers in the future but for the moment i think we should try and improve what we got and get servers like the kk populated more of the time instead of putting more of a strain on our server populations

I think that is something we can try in the future. Gamerail is going to be donating some more servers so, we might have one to spare.

That is along as we get some donations for our current servers and/or some coad participation :)

this wouldn't actually be a bad idea, maybe even get a team of guys to create NEW maps and put them on the custom server.

I think it an absolutely fanTAStic idea! Realism servers are taking off, and will prove to be very popular. Also, I always enjoy medic classes, very fun.

I also like his suggestion designating the server for Unit 7. Time to show that Unit 7 as a house is mature enough to warrent its own server!

I think this would be a great idea Angel...but one thing I would like to see is more realistic death-by-explosion. Like a grenade or rocket blowing guys into pieces instead of just blowing them up into the air.

As has been said, we need to focus on what we have first, in my humble opinion. Aside from my own KK servers, which obviously are full very rarely, our Flash server still needs more build up, and the Strand server needs more effort in the late hours.

While it may be a cool idea, I'm not sure adding another server is a good call yet. Especially one that esentially runs custom content. eGO as a whole (ie, the broad membership) hasn't been very receptive to custom content. Many won't even play custom maps... let alone a custom modification on the game engine itself.

TY FOR ALL YOUR RESPONESES I DID NTO MEAN IT TO CUASE A ARGUEMENTS IN THE CLAN SO KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF AND LET THE TOP GUYS DECIDE, JOHNT IF I CAN GET PEOPLE TO DONATE AND STUFF AND GET COADERS(WHATEVER THEY ARE) WOULD YOU BE HAPPY TO RUN IT?

Also remember, there aren't going to be any home maps. That has been eliminated. :)

Good idea, though.

I like it but what Spetz said was pretty much what I was going to. It is a lovely mod though.

Keep our opinions to ourselves? First, you posted this in a public forum, which is designed to generate discussion. Second, from custom maps, orange maps, scrims, and to the now defunct GunGame server, eGO's custom content is handled/managed by me.

Thus, even if we are able to raise the funds (or use a donated server) for such a concept, I cannot in good faith recommend this, and would not be willing to organize/manage it (yet... that's not to say I don't like the idea). eGO simply isn't ready for any additional custom material when over 50% of the member base won't even play a custom map. Only once that changes can begin to consider changing the fundamental dynamics of the game by adding different classes, new rules, and so forth. It's just that simple.

LOL, I was thinking this after I read the above all caps post.

I'm with Spetz.

lol spetz, the reason for i said this this is quite a major thing and alot of people have passion about this subject , what could cuas a rift in the clan. i know this a this happed in my mates clan and the clan split up in the (that would be impossilbe here).

I don't think this'd be a wise idea. Obviously this is not my call, and just putting in my two cents.

As Spetz and Papa Lazarou said, we need to improve what we have before we expand in a broad sense. The Custom maps are empty too many hours a day. Today, even Kalt, Flash and Avalanche were (almost) empty. I know the hours I'm on are American night hours, but what use would it be to have even more idle servers at night.
Good thinking but not now, maybe in the future imo.

i think this it an awesome idea. a few days ago my friend asked me why doesn't eGO have a server with medic class in i answered "i don't know" any ways i would love one of this type of server. thanks for bringing it up angel
