cs:s audio

i can't hear any sound when playing cs:s. i don't have any headphones plugged in, and i checked my audio settings, and everything is normal.

this is happening only to cs:s. my other games have sound.

any help?

What you should do is start up CS:S. next tab out of the game while its running to your desktop (alt+tab) then while your on your desktop right click your speaker icon in the bottom right. There should be something that says devices down there. (sorry im on a mac atm) So you click one of those and it should pop up. It shoul have all the programs running that require the sound and stuff. Scroll till you find the CS:S sound. sometimes it gets the game sound shut all the way down by 3rd party programs. happens to me from time to time.

Yes, in the volume mixer you need to make sure that the CSS volume isn't turned down/muted.. It happens to me a lot, where one program becomes muted for no apparent reason and I have to go into the volume mixer to rectify the problem.
