Ganking and guild response.

Question...is there any position eGO takes on taking on gankers? THis is my first MMO with eGO and I wonder how this situation would be handled.

CLEAR GANKING (not PVP)
On Tatoine there was a high level SIth camping the first outpost in the desert...the first place someone new to the world would travel to. The guy was stealthy, high level, and killed from behind in about 2 seconds after you got off the speeder...no chance for a fight....no PVP possible. I had to respawn in the area and I got killed about six more times because I couldn't get out of the area. Finally some other noobs showed up for this tard to gank, and I got away into the desert.

In a former guild (years ago) members could call on the guild to come to their aide in a situation where some high level was ganking lower levels.

Some members made it their mission in life to follow gankers around and kill them repeatedly as the ganker had to people far below their level.

How about here at eGO?

Can a person take out a bounty? (wasn't sure if the bounty thread was eGO vs. eGO or world wide).

Would the Empire and Republic collaborate?

I don't think I'll get caught like that again without a fast travel available to at least get out of the area.

I just hate see this kind of thing go un-punished.

If I'm online and a guild member is getting ganked, I'm all over that Sith busta!

This was an issue brought up before launch as well, and there seemed to be consensus then that members were going to answer any call of aid from a lowbie getting ganked.

While I am not sure how I could help, if you need help, I'm usually in vent and would be happy to offer my services. /empire

i think both guilds are friendly. I know a lot of the empire players helped me with a lot of questions in the begging since this is my first MMO ever!

I'm not on republic side but we've had similar things happen to our empire buddies. A jedi had been ganking one of our leveling BH's so we rolled out the 50's to go kill him (it was a long transit but we did get the guy a few times). So as far as the guild response, I'm not sure if we have an official policy but if you ask for help in chat usually some of us will set out to aid you.

So I would say that if you're getting ganked see if anyone can help or try to avoid whoever is doing the ganking ie leaving the area.

As for doing this to other people, I wouldn't suggest it, but if you see someone while you're running through an area and feel like you have to kill them I won't have an issue with it, but if you are camping them and you are just continually killing them, this I don't think is particularly a good idea. It gives eGO a bad name and isn't helping with the other persons experience, I always put myself in their shoes and if it was me I'd hate not being able to play.

Both eGO guilds are "friendly" as in we both have no issues talking to each other and having fun with each other, but if you see them and want to put a lightsaber through their chest, there is no problem with that. But again, don't do it continually and I would say don't do it to someone who you have a large level advantage over. Part of the point of the Bounty Boards are for encouraging friendly competition between the two guilds. Friendly feuds?

Thus the dangers or running on a PvP server.

PvP happens.

It's been happening to me a lot more as level 50 is the norm. My low level (20-27) alts are out, get beat / camped by a level 50 because, hey, 2 shotting someone 20+ levels below you is "PvP" (insert sarcasm here).

It will get worse too, just like WoW and their PvP servers.

If some much higher level character is ganking people, I will try to help out, though I'm not overly concerned as the PvP is really stupid. There is nothing to be gained or lost by world PvP.

Thanks all...as I said, that was a unique situation...I was new to that world, had to talk to a NPC to progress, had no fast travels, kept getting killed trying to runaway from the area etc.

For ganking it seems these are good ideas.

1. Fast travel somewhere else, to nother area or Fleet.
2. Run and hide if possible
3. Logoff for a bit.
4. Last option seems like get help...by the time poeple get there the tard may have moved on.

Cheers,
