Kindle Fire Battery Sound

Today in class while I was reading, my Kindle made a sound indicating the battery was dying, and this happened twice before I proceeded to turn it off as the teacher was getting angry at it. Is there anyway to disable this sound so it doesn't happen rather than just constantly charging it?
