I know this is pretty random, but my friend sent this to me, and I CAN'T figure this thing out!

Anybody know the answer?

yepp... the Hypotenuse is not a straight line.
On the first picture it's bending into the triangle and on the second picture it's bending outwards --> the surface area of the lower triangle is bigger than that of the first one and since we have only the same partitions available the missing area has to be taken from somewhere in the triangle.
The picture is created so that this area equals exactly one square.

Could explain it better in german but I hope everyone knows what I mean ^^

don't get it sorry, i'm NOT blonde!! lawl, i just don't see it :):):):):)

I get it, that's pretty clever...

really, im seeing that all that was done was the teal and red triangles were switched and orange block moved, i see it bending... but not seeing how it creates a whole new partition

yes, its bent its there so it makes you think thats what it is, all the creator did was move the blocks around draw yourself a triangle without a bent hypotonuse and rearrange the blocks it comes out to an empty space...

if you guys really want i can create an image to show you

like he said moved around

-Edited, as I typed this out I did what I said to do to prove it, so yes I know
