Hi everyone,

I am new to the clan and have been playing DOD for along time (since the orig. half-life mod v1.0). I have been playing a lot of donner and avalanche. Been playing quite a bit lately...

So I am currently a FA and played a scrim last Saturday with the sewer rats and had a good time, despite server issues.

Also it's been a pleasure playing with booyah and the fellow clan members.

I recently got a headset, which I never played with before, and made the gaming experience that much better! w00t w00t! Love communicating and working the strategy depending on the map.

I am pretty much play as an assault on allies, and machine gunner for axis.

So how do I figure out which house I should apply for?

Some would say you should base it on which map you like best and find out which house that map is home to, but seeing as how home maps will no longer be around next scrim season, it might be better to get to know some people in the clan, and join the house with the people you like to play with.

I would choose the latter way even if we still had home maps.
 
Mostly you should decide by the people in the house and the leaders of the house. Also the feel and age of the house. Like the Sewer Rats are more mature and laid back as another house might have different ideas and workings. Get to know the people and organization, and the map is more a a secondary thing.
 
Yeah, as folks have said, see who you get along with most, and go from there.

Or see who has the best cookies. We have double chocolate chip at the Kustom Kettle. Oh... and a few servers too. :)
 
Glad your liking the clan. Now that you have a headset also try to get Ventrillo working, its one of the fastest ways to get to know allot of the players, a good amount of the house leaders hang out in there too i believe, can chat with them allot faster over voice. Have fun tho
 
I haven't joined a house and at this time I'm not sure that I will. I couldn't choose one over the other because there are players in all houses that I get a long with and enjoy. I'm not concerned about joining for promo's or any of the like so I will probably just drop the FA tag and be an overall team player.

No one is making you join a house immediately so take your time and feel it out. When the time comes, you will know what feels best for you.

The [FA] tag has to be kept on really, it shows that you are part of the clan and is willing to play for any house scrimwise, if you want to be a 'team player' my view is that you keep it on so others can recruit you, also being in houses requires more team work when it comes to organising events.

On the subject of picking houses, pick the ones that you feel is right, some sound impressive and by god they are, but others just might be your cup of tea, have a look at what the house is like on the forums and make up your mind, being in a house is 100 times better than being a [FA] in my opinion you get to meet people quicker and your easily recognised, i made friends very quickly in this clan as i was in a house and it has helped me progress :)

Reservoir Dogs have double chocolate chips with white chocolate melted drizzle on top and MILK! Regular, 2%, 1%, Skim, etc. we got it all.
