Hello fellow gamers, geeks, friends and other noobs ;)

I recently got assigned a task of writing a shakespearean sonnet, which is basically a rhyme on 14 lines, following an iambic pentameter, where the rhyme scheme is like following:
A B A B, C D C D, E F E F, G G.

The last two lines form a couplet.
I was asked to write a love sonnet, in an up to date version, (Not elisabethian/archaic), and I were wondering if any of you poets might have some ideas for a great sonnet?

Timr loved a moose, but he didn't love him back.
Because Timr was a goose, who couldn't even quack.

Gogogo!

And so did timr fly, A goose with dread
For he found himself too high, he felt he would lay an egg

I'm not a poet, but you can definitely tell I was inspired to try lol

I would say to start by thinking of what you love, and what you'd like the poem's overall feel to be. Is it about something/someone? Is it about nature/objects/etc.? Is it about the idea of 'love' itself? Lighthearted and joking, or Serious Business? Brainstorm some ideas, get them out on the paper so you can look at them and decide what to keep and what to toss.

Once you get that figured out, you could do the poem in one of several ways, like doing the whole sonnet about one person/thing. Or having each quartet about a different person/thing, the couplet at the end tying them together. Or maybe throwing all of your things in there, one to a line, and using the couplet to say something about love in general. Or something else entirely.

BTW, this inspired me to write my husband a love sonnet.
