How to set up TF2 to Alt-Tab out

Shiznoe helped me discover this little gem while I was setting up my live stream with eGO and had to set TF2 in windowed mode instead of full screen and in doing so discovered that I could Alt-Tab out of the game as if it were any other app I was running on my desktop.

First:

In game go to options->video->

where it says Display mode select- Run in a window

Second:

Go to your steam library and right click on TF2 and go to properties.

Under the General Tab go to -Set Launch Options.
When the window pops up write this in: -noborder

Reset the game and when it starts back up it's now full screen screen again but now you can Alt -Tab out. No more ctrl-alt-delete to get out...at least for me.

They got a thread about this in admin private i think, used to do it myself but not really necessary anymore since TF2 has been made easier to tab out of.

I have not yet been able to tab out for ages now. I always need to ctrl-alt-delete, twice sometimes, to get out.

You can also put "-windowed" in the launch options and skip step one!

Well, according to the first post, Shiznoe had helped Deviant1 discover this trick; not necessarily told him.

The major problem with this is that it turns on Vsync, which usually locks down your framerate to 60 fps (depending on what your monitor's refresh rate). And these aren't just video frames, they're gameplay frames, too, meaning you have less frames in which to input things, which is inherently bad.

Note that Mac users don't need to do this as you can Command-Tab out of TF2 (and most other games that work on Mac) without a hitch. Evar!

instead of setting windowed ingame you can just add -windowed to the launch options
