So, I wanted to see what everybody thought of this before I posted it in the dropbox, what about custom skins for the high school server?! Maybe for CTs people in suits and ties (like principals and stuff), and for Ts, teenage looking people or something, whoever wants to skin them. Let me know what you think! :)

You can drop box what you like, but I doubt it will get done. Highschool hasn't changed much since it was created, so I don't think it'll happen. It would be something fun to do for a quick even or something, just to mix things up! Sounds pretty cool though! ;)
 
Often times, custom skins and such just look strange. Also, I believe we try to keep the server as vanilla as possible, meaning, the less custom content, the faster people can join our servers and have fun.
 
I'm not speaking for CSS leadership, but from my experience, we try not to put extra files, like skin DLC on the server because it increases players connection time, people don't want to spend 5 mins downloading skins. It also can have adverse effects, increasing lag etc. If you wanted to, you could run the skins client side, I do that, it works.

But, in any case, if you want something changed on the server, use the dropbox

Ok cool, just wanted to see what the division thought before I brought it to leadership.
 
Just download skins for yourself and post the pics here for us to see. I highly doubt they will be put on the server though.
 
i like the skin idea... would be cool... except I agree about when you join a new server and have to wait 15 minutes while a bunch of crap downloads... majority of the time I will just stop and join somewhere else
 
Not trying to be mean here, but I dont think teens shooting principals and planting bombs would exactly represent our image to the fullest extent.

For CTs: G-man, Kleiner, Magnusson, other miscellaneous skins of people in suits.

For Ts: Alyx, some citizens with custom clothes, quite possibly Gordon Freeman...
 
If it was just like Dedicated Supporter skins for ded supporters then that would be pretty awesome. However, if everyone got skins it would not look good.
 
It would look extremely unprofessional, unless we had a Bob Ross skin. Anyone with me?

I hate to be the bringer of bad news, and this is just my opinion, but a map named "highschool" seems pushing the line a little. Having men in suits shooting at teenagers in a map called highschool would be a little too over the line in any use of it, and would be in bad taste, if it wouldn't bring legal problems. You can find these models if you'd like client side, but it would not fly if we made the skins server-side.
 
nah because more then likely they wont change it because everyone will not like it.
 
Solution:

DL your own skins.
Use them.
Don't care about anyone else.
???
Profit.

Therefore, you can use whatever skins you want, and everyone else can use whatever they want. Everyone wins!
