Best one I can think of is Rusty Hearts. Has some anime-ish looking characters and enemies, but plays like a hack and slash (or button masher). Has a interesting background and storyline, and the combat is fun enough to keep replaying. MattwithaCat and I both were playing it quite a bit back around Nov/Dec. Even created an eGO guild (wonder what happened to it). Also, it was free to play on Steam; it's actually a freemium game from Perfect World, but the premium aspects of the game do not detract from the combat, and from what I experienced, only impacts visual effects for the majority of the time.
P.S. I was able to run this game comfortably on my laptop, which does not have the best GPU or CPU for gaming. Even better, because it's like a button masher, it sounds like I'm taking notes in class so I don't get in trouble (plus I type really fast so that helps too).
