We talked about that in school. They should take a earth picture and everywhere will be dark except the US which will be brighter then ever. =P

I hate those special days ... cause it gives ppl a clear conscience where they shouldn't have one.
As if one hour of turning off the lights would do anything... !mistrust
And most ppl dont get the message of that event also - so it's more contra-productive than useful.

I'm all for conservation but I find that all the earth day stuff to be kinda of a shame. Not to mention the fact that one of the co-founders of earth day murdered his girlfriend, and left her body in a trunk for nearly two years before it was found. True story for all those who have never heard this, though its pretty common knowledge. So......you hate people that support the earth because some crazy hippy that has prolly been on drugs his whole life killed his girlfriend. Thats a strange outlook but people have their opinions. I agree that the one hour will do nothing and the real problem is the use of the fuels. More like everyone in the world not driving for a day. I also agree that noone rlly grasps the point of it and it goes to waste.
Whatever, at least people are trying.

Where in my post did I say I hate people who support the earth? You are putting words in my mouth that I never spoke. I am a huge conservationist myself, it was how I was raised. My only problem is when people put the earth before the well-being of his fellow man. And since that "crazy hippie" you speak founded this whole earth day movement with ideals to put the earth before man, it stops and makes you think when he ends up being a murderous lunatic.

I turned off my lights ^^. I don't really believe or at least am not scared of global warming at this time. I turned off my lights because I thought it would be interesting to use candles and see my entire town in the dark.
