Yep happened to me twice this night and I am fed up trying to stick in a game for the night, typical EA, so happy I didn't pay but 5 bucks for BC2:facewall::facewall::chair:

Don't get me wrong, as I still enjoy the hell out of Bad Company 2, but Battlefield 3 is EA/DICE's mainstream product now. As it is, I'm happy with that; since its launch, BF3 has garnered more dev support than BC2 ever did.

Other than EA/DICE, do you know what issues could be causing it?

I actually believe Heavy Metal crashed. Not quite sure why but its uptime was only about 5 hours when I noticed it was empty this morning. Procon said it was connected to the backend so it was up but wasnt visible to players. I restarted the server and it seems to be visible now.

You're kidding right?

BC2 Beta was horrible, but before release, community feedback made the game so much better, weeks before it officially came out. We actually had key features (at least on the PC version). VOIP, free map packs, optimization patches, and nerfing that made sense. The forums were flooded with problems people had and were fixed in no time. BF3..well...look at the forums and count how many problems still persist.

As it stands right now, BF3 Alpha is A LOT better than the current version. It's still a great game, but it's not better.

I blame it on EA trying to compete with Activision. It was unnecessarily rushed, which leads to a bug ridden game.

I don't see what people complain about, I have NEVER had any major issues with BC2 or BF3, they have worked fine for me since day 1, beside the occasional "disconnected from EA online" when joining a server (which rarely happens) it has no more or less issues then any other online game I have ever played. I think people just feel overly entitled to the game being perfect FOR THEM just because they paid for it.

EA had no say in development besides setting time tables. EA only handled publishing and outsourced testing here and there to help DICE. I dont know why everyone blames publishers so much for bugs in the game when EA didnt develop it

I was thinking about this too... Why do people do what they do :confused1:

DICE is entirely owned and funded by EA.

It was their decision to go against MW3 by releasing BF3 weeks before it. It isn't DICE's fault that they couldn't fix the bugs in time. A lot of good features were cut because they weren't completely stable. So yes, I still blame EA for the majority of BF3's problems. DICE is trying, but they can only do so much.

Still doesnt change the fact that DICE developed the game, not EA

that still doesnt help make any sense to blame EA, this is just how games built on new engines are nowadays, they get released almost in beta format and improve over time. the only games that dont do this are ones that dont do major changes to engines and gameplay i.e. MW3. the decision to release BF3 weeks b4 MW3 was a strategic move that was for the better, it helped BF3 sell more and is a very logical choice to do business wise. it was on DICE to fix as many things as possible within that release window which not many companies nowadays can live up to because publishers are getting more and more competitive with release dates of games which puts strain on the already hardworking devs

All I freakin know is this I keep getting a connection to EA server issue, it is not my internet, and almost all the servers I play on disappear. so to me it is an EA issue. Also when this happens I can not get on ANY MOH server, again EA issue, so to me it IS an EA issue, will continue to be an EA issue till they fix it, but, with prior dealings they will not, when EA drops a game they drop a game. Those of you who can't or won't understand that, that is your issue not mine

cant or wont understand that? the fact that servers are disappearing could be hosts changing over to BF3 servers instead in favor of better server pops. EA cant control ppl changing servers b/t games. If you cant connect to any servers then it is actually probably your internet being weird, not EA. that doesnt sound like an EA issue. they dont drop server support for games they publish just because a new one comes out. BF2 PR mod is still going pretty strong so the only you could do is look on the official forums for more information

The reason the server disappears is the connection to EA is down, they been doing this ever since BF2, next will be no support or support so freakin late it is of no use just like the 1.5 patch for BF2, 2 YEARS after they patch 2142? when BF2 had a much much bigger following. Yea I know how EA works have since 1942 came out, yea they did the very same thing, then again with BF2, and now with BC2,and if you dont like my threads why do you troll them??????????????????????
And another thing it IS the connection to the EA server that is down, and when this happens NO EA game I have will connect, so I say again troll somewhere else
