Not sure how many of you out there are long time DOD'ers, but I've been playing since Day of defeat was a third party beta mod in 2000 and have played competitively in CAL-O, CAL-M and CAL-I clans! I just wanted to post up because I tend to bring up the 1.3 version a lot in the servers and many tend to reflect and reminisce on the "good ol days"

Playing as anyone from the Americans, 101st Airbourne, British, Wehrmacht to the Fallschirmj?ger on some pretty amazing maps... Glider, Zalec, Hill Classic and june1944 (a map composed of hedgerows, farm houses, barns and a crossroads... so dope), were a few of my all time favorites!

Not sure if this has been a recent topic, for I have been absent from these forums for almost two years until a few days ago when JohnT asked me to come back.

So yeah! Chat it up

I played quite much back in the days, and of course was a fps noobie so overlord was my no.1 map. Aw man there's been too many years without DoD. Luckily i bought it again last December.

Well it's good that you're back! Since DOD is the best 1st person shooter :thumbup1:
 
we use to have an event that involved played a 1.3 server. Wish it was still back.
 
Hell yeah. I downloaded it again and have played it a bit recently.. I love forest.. The original avalanche makes me rage, but i play it still.. Game is dope.

GOOMS! This is ShOrTy ;) :w00t: +TF+ was definitely our first stomping grounds ! We used to tear up Zalec together in the +TF+ server with Rat and FDNY! Good times man. Hope to see you around the servers sometime soon. Miss you, ya old fart!

Man - back in the day! LOL I played on Caen and hung out with the goon squad and GA's. Back then I went by "i bite ankles" because I used to lay my mg down in the back alley and mow down the enemies from the ankles up. I miss that map. :(

Gooch Assassins have been around forever :) Loved the 24/7 CAEN [GA] server!

I was |BOD| ShOrTy for the longest time. I think there is a Source version of Caen and I'm not sure if you noticed the trend, but Source players tend to stick to a total of 10 maps, where as in 1.3 everyone was always down for playing custom maps on the regular!! I miss those days.
 
of course i remember dod 1.3 I used to play in cal, tpg and various other leagues before 1.3 died :( and when the thompson and mp40 actually sucked :facewall: 1.3 > source in terms of a competitive game always will be
 
ahh yess...1.3. those were the good old days. caen all the way.

and i like your sewer rats tag ;) H/H ftw though.
