Team Imbalance and Speak Up about it.

When the teams are stacked, it's not any fun for the losing players.

I understand that EGO admins will take action when a team has 3 less players than another team, but sometimes the teams can be very unbalanced even when the player count is equal. Take for example on the EGO Strand only DoD:S server 72.233.123.3:27015, when the allies team sniper slots are taken up by players who cannot use the weapon properly and the axis team has players who can do just that. Anybody who's played that map knows what I mean: it can be impossible to get off the beach. And it can get so bad as to cause players to leave in frustration and lack of enjoyment on the EGO server. Then because of the that, the player count on the allies team drops and player count team stacking ensues.

I also understand that most EGO players like to play on the easier camping, AXIS side so they don't know firsthand when the teams get increasingly imbalanced. So when is it ok to speak up about the situation by typing it in the all chat text box?

Because when anonymous EGO admin tell me, "enough". I immediately get even more frustrated and then stop playing on your EGO servers. And so you poor souls have to read all this stuff.

Dear Concerned Strand Player,

Please use Drop-Box located at http://edge-gamers.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=852 so that you can get directly to eGO leadership about this problem. Its the best way to address's it rather than posting it in the general forums where it will get lost or possibly misplaced.

Thanks,

BCA

My Question, is for the general, registered public forum as well as the EGO leadership. I think that everyone might want to read about this, right?

As far as the matter of a qualified sniper goes.. We as admins cannot do anything about it, unless of course the person is afk. Our rules do not include "no hogging special weapons", or that "only excellent people can play with special classes". This allows anyone who joins our server to choose a special class if it is available, and play and practice with it. We do not discriminate against people who's skills are slightly less than others.

On the issue of the map being unfair, that has been up for debate recently. A thread has been opened discussing this event. You can provide us with examples of what you believe would make the map better, or more fair. Click the following link Strand improvement topic

Finally, it is not good to press admins. You can use admin chat (u@) to send a message directly to the admins on the server about the problem. Please do not use this excessively though. It is there when you need it, and it is a good tool to use. Admins may look over something in all chat, but if they see the green admin chat, they are more likely to grant attention to it.

Please do not give up on our servers. We have a lot to offer. I know it can get stressful some times, but we will do what we can to the best of our ability and our limits as admins to maintain a peaceful, clean, and fair enviornment for gaming on our servers. If you are ever on any of our maps (especially strand) and there is a team inbalance (By this I mean one team has 3 or more people than the other team) feel free to contact me on steam. I encourage you to add myself or other admins, and if there are no admins present when you need one, hit us up. We will do what we can to help you, and enforce the rules.

Hope this helps :)

Yes, Shaneme2! Your reply does help! Thanks for bringing that post to my attention. I will be posting my suggestions.

I have not yet given up on your servers. Though I problems from time to time with EGO, most the players are cool and the servers are usually full of good times. I disagree with some of the rules of EGO, but I understand them and of course respect them. I prefer no censorship, but I understand the want to portray this video game about historical violent murderous combat in a clean child friendly environment. It's fun to shoot nazi's in the FACE!!!! :D

Just wanted to add one thing somethinghumble --

It appears that like your headache is more around skill stacking vs. team numbers stacking. Besides being something that's really tough to admin (saying one player is better than another can be a really judgmental and not to mention sensitive topic), the important thing to realize is that not all players necessarily think the same, so to speak.

For instance, there are days when I like being on the team that is rolling the opposition, and there are other days when I enjoy being on the team that is being rolled, as playing defensively and desperately trying to prevent taking your team's last flag can be fun too. I rarely enjoy stalemates/standoffs where the tide of the battle rarely changes.

What I'm trying to say in the above paragraph is, that's just me and what I enjoy personally. John Doe is going to enjoy something else, and the same with Jane Doe. Enforcing anti-skill stacking (if that were truly possible) whilst making you happy, could thus distance other players. Myself included.
