you would be better off spending about 20-30 more on a 6870 then a 550. i know there is a possibility you might just be an "nvidia guy". i get it i used to be an nvidia guy til i got a 5870 2 yrs back. but price for perfomance the 6870 is a better card than the 550 but the 560 slightly edges out the 6870
or you can get a 560 for about 20-30 more with rebates.

The 6870 and 560 are a lot better than a GTX 550 Ti, so long as you have a power supply that can handle it.
 
Or you could stay in the same price range and get the gtx 460 (gtx 560 is an overclocked gtx 460) or a 6850. Bother are better cards yet can be had for about the same price as the 550 Ti you linked.

This evga has a faster core and memory clock than the 560 that was linked to and is a good bit cheaper.

However, since the 460 I linked to it overclocked even past a gtx 560, this comparison is more useful:

But, the 550 Ti you linked to is overclocked as well, but only a bit, so the increase in performance over the one in the comparison will not yield much improvement.

My one 460 gets me 60 frames on high plus in bf3 on ultra.. Around 34 steady
