All about mice

I don't mean the rodent, I'm talking about that controller your hand uses to play the game
What kind of mouse do you use/prefer? Optical, marble, trackball, etc...
Why do you use the one you do. What do you like/dislike (pros/cons)
Wired, wireless?



Ill start off.
I use a Logitech trackman marble (wired)

Pros:
Never need to find a clean surface or mouse pad, you can use it anywhere.
And its easy on the arm, no strain whatsoever
full 360 degree movement in game is easy as a flick of the fingers
Relatively cheap ($20 for the new version, less for the older ones)
USB - plugs in anywhere (also has adapter for mouse input on old computers)
Computer access security: remove trackball, access is denied!

Cons:
No scroll wheel (makes b-hop difficult)
Must clean space under trackball (gets gunk'd up every once and a while)
Up/down arrow buttons with no use (old ones didn't have, new ones shouldn't)

Microsoft sidwinder (the original) wired
Pros:
On the fly dpi buttions
Accurate, precise
comfterable to hold, great wrist support
different gliding feet things to pick from
custom buttons that are programable
Cons:
max dpi is only 2000
cable anchor is not that great
thumb buttons feel a little cheap

Pros:
17 BUTTONS!
5600DPI
Great feeling clicks
Macros
LIGHTSSS!!!!!111!!!1!!!

Cons:
Forced to claw grip because of shape
glossy lower portion gets gunked up with sweat and dust and such making a yellow goop that you need to wipe off every week or so
Not designed for FPS gaming so it hurts the hand after a couple hours.

Pros:
Nice grip
Left/Right/Down click buttons on scroll wheel
2 left buttons
DPI buttons for changing on the fly (+/-)
Weight cartridge with 9 slots to put 3 different gram weights (included) so you can get that perfect balance on how you want the mouse to feel, light or heavy or in between

Cons:
None so far

Pros:
Weight-tuning
On-the-fly adjustable dpi (really comes in handy when jumping in a tank or co-piloting a chopper)
Feet are so slick it does not matter what the mousing surface is, it glides.
And other bells and whistles

I have a R.A.T. 9 and use it on my naked desk. How dirty of me.

Pros:
Huge customization
Wireless
On-the-fly DPI switches
Precision Aim mode
5400 DPI

Cons:
The looks. No one wants to use my computer anymore. Ah hell, that is a pro!
The sideways scroll wheel is kinda useless to me
The two side buttons are a little useless as well

Old - Logitech M620

Pros:
wireless
enough buttons for most of what I do
fast scroll wheel
comfortable
very long battery life
plenty of programming options

Cons:
laser doesn't always track well, even on high end mousepad
no on the fly dpi adjustment
occasional radio interference from my g930 headset makes mouse unresponsive

Brand new - Logitech G700

Pros:
on the fly dpi
even more buttons
wireless or wired as needed
even more comfortable than M620
no interference with my headset(so far)
tracks perfectly
even more programming options

Cons:
battery life is abysmal
don't really like how fast scroll is implemented on this mouse
re-learning new key layout is slowing me down a bit in game (just temporary I hope)

I just got the G700 a few days ago and as of right now I'm only using it for gaming, for work and internet the fast scroll on my M620 is much better.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Mouse that has the blue laser that can go on any service and that is all that i need for gaming. I don't need any really good gaming mouse, what i have right now has great battery life and yeah.
