BFBC2 Heavy Metal, Camping Flag Spawn areas....

Hi folks,

I was wondering (BFBC2 Heavy Metal):
1. is there a rule that you do not 'camp' the flag spawns?
2. is it bad form?
3. is it completely ok (part of the game)?

(In the past) I have tried to not focus on the spawn area when trying to take a flag but noticed (Very forcefully last night) that some use the tactic of constant artillery barrage from a camping tank on the flag spawn area to 'help' their team take the flag.

...I should change my name to "SpawnNDie" after last night...I think at one point I was 3:20 on the K-D due to this tactic.

Any thoughts on camping the flag spawns?

I think its fine and can be used as a tactic sometimes. Its something thats tough to control also as monitoring that would take constant admining. Its tough but sadly we will have to live with it.

If it's a cappable point one can camp it. The idea being exactly as you say to help their team take the flag and therefore a part of the intended gameplay. Whenever I'm in that situation, I spawn on a squadmate who hopefully is in another position, a diff flag, or if all else fails deployment. Then of course I would try to use that oppurtunity of spawning at that alt location to come back and forcibly remove said camping tank with whatever explosives I could muster up.

When the server says no spawn camping the spawn we are referring to is the uncap deployment. In which case only in Rush is that allowed.

Edit: as far as bad form... I wouldn't think so only thing I really consider bad form is rocket spam against infantry and auto shotties with frag rounds in BF3*cough*killercankill*cough*

I love when my job is done for me!

Yes, it would be difficult/impossible to monitor, not suggesting making it a crime.

Through stubbornness, I was able to respawn over-and-over quickly enough to take out the tank....then another one showed (as the first one was blowing up) ...I then (as Wild Kard suggested) found other places to spawn. :-)

I will add it to my list-o-tactics...
