Ahh yeah! As soon as I am available I am running up to the store and getting ME3! I will have to take an hour for ME2 though as I decided to run through the game again about a week ago, and I am on the last mission.

*Placeholder for ME3 experiences and comments.*

So far i have to say it's good.Definetly what will "disturb" you the most are the visual bugs/glitches since the engine the game's running on is errh about 7 years old.The walking animations are just weird as hell and some animations are off in general. The story is tight so far (I wont give spoilers).I just need to get my me2 playthrough finished to see if it was actually worth beating me and me2 for me3.Right now i'd give the game an 8/10 but that will most likely change depending on the ending.(Not a spoiler but some parts of the story will come off as very unbelievable).

Mass effect 3 is going to be the last one? correct? I haven't really looked into it that much but i might have to get this one....

As far as Shepard's story's concerned this is the last game about him.I'm sure bioware eventually plants to release other related things to mass effect. There's been that talk about a movie being made.

As much as I dislike MMO's, I seriously wouldn't mind a Mass Effect MMO.

Currently downloading the first DLC (Downloadable Content) for ME3! And I haven't even started playing! eeeeeeeeeeeee

Probably won't be playing for awhile. I finished ME2 and I was pumped, then I put in ME3 and it told me I couldn't import my character's face. I don't know about anyone else, but I refuse to play until this is fixed.

I played all night and I was disappointed. I'm going to return it in a bit. As much as I liked ME1 and sort of liked ME2, I saw this coming and refused to believe it. Not going to spoil anything, but I pretty much saw how the game was going to end about halfway through. If you want to see Shepard through to the end, rent it. Maybe get it when price drops.

I KNOW! I was ticked when I encountered this problem... I even tried loading a new game from ME2 to get the face code, but when I entered it I got an invalid entry!!!

So, being the excited ME nerd that I am, I resisted the boycott and attempted to re-create my Shephard based on a photo. Didn't turn out too well. My wife, who enjoys the series and watched me play the past ones, even commented on how my Shep looked different. :(

Hopefully the hotfix will allow me to make a cosmetic change halfway through the game.

I lost my saves so i got a good one of my friend imo the default shepard is the way too go. Though i need to beat it but i hope the ending isnt some miracle save i'd hate that soo much but i have a feeling it's gonna be one. Also the DLC on first day crap with EA is really bugging the hella outta me.

Just finished all of the Tuchunka missions. What an epic story arch so far with the whole genophage. Looking forward to my next big step, probably Quarian related. My shep did after all sex up Tali in the 2nd ME.

I totally went with Tali in ME2 but i did go for ashley in ME1 and ashley looks damn fine this game.

Well... I could import my character, but the face was screwy, so I found some "solution" posted in the official Mass Effect forums, then tweaked and got my shep looking about the same. It was close enough for me.

First the bad. The animations are indeed glitchy, there are times when characters jerk around unnaturally. Facial animations are about par for the course from the original game. So nothing to write home over. There is little emotion and a lot of times you find yourself in a conversation only to have your characters seemingly staring away from each other.

The Day 1 DLC, "From Ashes" is, well... kind of a rip off on BioWare and EA's part. I bought the digital deluxe edition because I wanted to play it, but even though I can see the game running just fine without it, it provides so much back story and information that I am not sure how the game would have been without it. So to make it a paid DLC on day 1 is kind of lame in my opinion. **SPOILERS** It also felt slightly game breaking as the prothean weapon you get requires no ammo and is just ultra powered... **END SPOILERS**

And the good. Lots of good. Combat has been streamlined further, there is more range of motions you can do while fighting, such as take downs from behind cover, dashing between cover, and jumping (although, only at certain spots). The graphics have again been beefed up slightly over the last game which is nice, although the graphics are hit and miss, some areas seem very detailed and textures while others just seemed like they lacked detail. Being able to import your character through the three games really was very awesome. While the general flow of the story is probably the same no matter how you slice it, there are definitely decisions you have to make in all three, and there are decisions from both the first and second game that definitely affected how my story played out. It was very nice as it makes the decisions you have to make seem like they truly do affect things in the world of mass effect... and believe me, there are some mighty big decisions to be made in this game as well.

A bit of the weapon customization is back from the first game which is nice if you enjoying customizing your character that much more. And they did away with all that tedious planet scanning. Its still there, but... different.

Anyways, I just finished the game a few minutes ago, and I am quite satisfied. Unlike some other game franchises or series, you get something in this game that just feels rare... conclusion. The story of shepherd and the reapers is finished, and answers are given. Im sure some will complain, but I found the answers to be quite satisfying. The only small issue I found is that just like the last two games, you can continue to play after beating the main story... and in this one, it just makes no sense (at least not with the ending I chose)... you will see.

Very satisfied. Insanity is actually a decent challenge now- mainly because you often find yourself out of ammo, you MUST rely on a good squad composition (biotic is basically required, and bringing a tech - EDI is the best so far, but I like tali so I'm taking her for her character every time now) and use their powers liberally, and the grenade spam (which honestly... it just felt annoying to begin with but its ok I suppose) forces you to stay mobile in combat.

SPOLIERish:
The thane scene was just deep. That prayer. Ridiculous.
Krogan arch was touching as well.
Udina... oh man, best part in the game so far was shooting him in the face. Didn't even hesitate when that renegade interrupt came up.
And Ash- didn't even recognize her to begin with.

This post is one giant spoiler so if you do not wish to be spoiled, do not highlight the white text to read it. After doing two play throughs of the game, I have come across several problems with how the story progressed. Im not even touching the endings yet.

My consensus is that this is a deal with the devil. We get our ending... we get what we want, but in the worst way possible. Its like the star wars prequals. They all sucked, but you had to watch them. There was no getting around it. You HAD to watch them.

First problem. Humanity is the second target, yet the primary focus of the reaper invasion. Sure reapers are sent to other planets as well, but their main focus is earth. More reapers are there than any other planet. Why is this, when we know that the turians have the most advanced military in the galaxy and the best land forces outside of the krogan.

It could be speculated that the events of mass effect 2 made harbinger sort of mad at Shepard. So we took the largest force to earth. However this would conflict with the events of the ending.

(Spoiler alert.)

If you remember, the catalyst said he controlled the reapers and that they were his solution to the problem of synthetics like the geth who would eventually become so powerful that they would kill anything that had DNA.

The next problem ties in with the first. Why in the hell would the reapers focus on earth instead of attacking the citadel and shutting down all of the relays. That was their original plan wasnt it? Remember in Mass effect one how the plan for the reapers was the shut down the relays and cutting everyone off to be harvested? (Sorry spoiler alerts are null and void for both me1 and 2. The games are old now and you should have played them already since they are both amazing and fun.)

Instead, we have the point of something I like to refer to as plot convenience. And as red letter media happily put it. "Plot convenience = movie suck." While this isnt a movie... it works nonetheless. But never fear people this is retconed.

(Spoiler alert.)

The reapers actually go and take over the citadel as they figure out that humanity learned that the catalyst is actually the citadel. But this does not shut down the mass relays as the prothean AI on Ilos said it would in ME1. It simply gets moved and turned into a giant harvesting chamber that is used to make reapers... WHAT!?

While several things were done right in the game, especially the political bickering between certain races and the actions you must take to apease these faction. It all goes horribly wrong.

For instance. Why is the focal point of this game about taking back earth? Why not Palaven or thessia, or mars or whatever. Why is it about earth? I know thats where we live, and it makes for an epic story, but this is an expanded universe the size of star wars and star trek. There are dozens of races, hundreds of worlds, and trillions of lives at stake. But I guess that would be the point of the plot convenience. Since it was convenient to make earth the primary focus of the invasion, you make earth the primary focus of the counter attack. That way you kill off the largest focus of reapers, you have already won.

It seems like bioware really dropped the ball here, or EA forced them to push the game out. Im going with the latter as Bioware wanted the game delayed ever since the russians hacked the demo and leaked the entire script forcing bioware to change it. Which brings me to the final part of this ME3 hate

The endings. From here on out it is spoiler. Dont read if you dont want to know yet. You have been warned.

((((((Spoiler alert. Im telling you all 6 endings here. Yes there are 6.))))))

No matter what you do in the game, no matter which decisions are taken, no matter who you side with, it doesnt matter one tiny bit. You get 2 default endings. If the green bar is filled completely, no matter what your galactic readiness is at, the energy wave does not wipe out life on earth. If it is not, it does.

But there are three choices too. You have Control, destruction, and synthesis.

You can choose to destroy all synthetic life. This will kill the reapers, the geth, and most of the technology you rely on. This sends out a red shock wave that either washes over harmlessly, or kills all life on earth depending on your effective combat meter. The citadel blows up, killing shepard and anderson, and destroying all mass relays. There is no stopping the death of shepard. Or the relay destruction. It will happen. No matter what.

You can choose to control the reapers. This will kill shepard, yet preserve his/her spirit and shepard becomes the new catalyst I suppose. Shepard calls back all reaper troops and you see soldiers on earth cheering, or dieing in a fire depending on that green meter. The relays are destroyed.

You can choose synthesis which merges biological and synthetic life into one matrix. Once again, depending on our meter, the wave will wash over or destroy earth. The relays are destroyed no matter what.

In all three endings, you see the normandy flying at FTL speeds trying to escape the shock wave. But the wave engulfs the normandy and its inhabitants are marooned on a strange plant. If your bar wasnt filled, you dont know what happened to the crew. You see the door crack and then the credits roll. If you filled the bar, some of your squadmates and joker walk out. If you get the good ending, after the credits, you will see a man and his son talking about shepard. With the boy asking him to tell another story of the shepherd. The father says OK and the screen fades to black leaving interpretation for another mass effect.

So there you have it. No matter what you do, no matter who your friends are, no matter who you saved, no matter who you kissed undressed saw their boobies and the rest, it doesnt matter. You maroon every race's navy in earth's solar system and shepard dies. There is no storybook ending here, and I am strangely fine with that, but I just feel like the entire game was nothing more than a tease. Like you actually had a say in what happens. NO You only decide what color the explosion is in the ending. THATS IT.

You could argue that controlling the reapers would allow shepard to build new mass relays, but that could take months. I highly doubt earth's shattered ecosystem, and the quarian liveships could feed all those people for that long of a time.

So my consensus. EA sucks for pushing the game out too fast, and those russian hackers REALLY suck for forcing us to eat this stinking turd of an ending.

This game is too short. I feel cheated- I played it on insanity, bashed my head against the wall on some of the stupider fights (Like.... the biotic school, in the courtyard with the atlas and massive amounts of cerberus; kai leng - he is just dumb; rannoch boss fight - in the slowmo part I just could not get it to lock on in time, finally got it popping adrenaline rush before starting that; the 5 rachni and many cannibal/marauders in the refuge camp), and still got 100% completion in 2 days of gaming - 30 hours (2 days and a few hours the night before, but still played hardcore). Really disappointed; was still good though.
