Statement regarding the server stability situation

The CS:S Division would like to forward the following statement regarding our server stability situation:

When we started this most recent push to be the most popular servers in the world, others around the world took notice. We quickly rose to the #1 Dust 2 server in the United States and the #5 server in the entire world.

Unfortunately, a few individuals who are jealous and otherwise find our rise to be unwelcome have chosen to follow a route of DDOS attacks and other Smurf style attacks to interrupt the gaming experience for our players and our members.

We understand that you are frustrated with the current situation. The servers are currently being monitored 24/7 by our host, Mostly Harmless, Kendle and myself. We are very concerned about the situation as much as you are and we are doing everything in our power to help you resume your normal punk-free lag-free gaming environment.

That being said, the solution is not to bombard CS:S Leadership with messages about the servers lagging as soon as we sign on steam. This is not helping the situation and it is making it extremely difficult to focus on anything. Please utiltize the dropbox for any substantial problems you are having. I have been receiving messages like "Jail just crashed" from 10 to 15 people constantly for the past few days every 15 minutes. It's not helping. I understand your frustration, but we are monitoring the servers very closely. I assure you the issue will be fixed.

2 changes have been made to the two boxes we operate by Mostly Harmless and Kendle. The situation is continuing to be monitored closely. This issue has been found to be affecting many communities. As the situation evolves, hopefully this thread will not be needed.

I also want to thank those who are still filling up our servers, especially Dust 2 regardless of the situation. We appreciate that you are continuously helping our number one CS:S Server and keeping it up in the ranks.
