THANK YOU!
I want to start off by giving a big thank you to the managers of this campaign for working so hard to get this thing going for the 7th time.

Big thanks to our Command Staffs:
Smilodon
Chuck Norris*
BG (Warrior)
Timr
Sonic
Skippy

Our TAs:
Lungbuster
Blue Stealth
BCA
Sumac

And another thank you to everyone who showed up for this campaign!

Now on to my question... I'm curious of what everyone thought of the squad system in this campaign. So check it out, put in your correct team, and vote!

Thanks again to everyone for a great campaign.

Worked awesomely! Was great fun the whole campaign and allied squadleaders were the best.
A big URAA for Chuck, Skippy and BG!

The idea of the squad based teams was a great one but can not work if executed improperly. These squads were used quite efficiently and did work out nicely for the most part. I think this was a great improvement to the game, but like everything, could be tweaked a little. This could mean worse consequences for offenders of certain things (like not listening or being disruptive or uncooperative) but those all depend on the Cincs and Generals that are commanding.

Axis: Liked Squad play better than Normal play.

First of all, I'd like to thank all of the Command Staff and the TA's for the magnificent work that you've done to put all this campaign together. Thanks to you, I had a lot of fun while playing and I bet that everyone else did as well.

On a secondary thought, I have to say that I enjoyed squad play much much more than normal play. It is interesting to see how it differs from normal gameplay as it feels and it actually is a lot more organised, realistic, and tactical than the normal, non organised DOD gameplay. The whole point of this campaign is realism, and I believe that it is achieved through the many guidelines that were given to us for a more realistic gaming experience and it was, in my opinion achieved mostly because of the squad gameplay and the lots of communication used between squad members and leaders. If you did not like it, then it might have been because your squad didn't have the advantage of communication which makes the game a lot more fun and interesting.
For this type of games, the key for winning is communication, it gives you a feeling of organisation and maybe even comfort because it makes you feel like you know what you're doing and that you're doing it good. But this is just my opinion.
To finish, I'd just like to say that I loved the matches over these weeks, and I will absolutely join more campaigns in the future.

A quote I like:
No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

-General George S. Patton, Jr.

I like squad play. It reduces the ammount of unnecessary noise during a match and makes communication a key factor on larger maps. I would also like to thank everyone who was involved n this campaign. It wouldnt be possible without you.

For squad play to work you have to have a very strong leadership core who has great communication. Without that strength your members will feel like they are simply a group of people playing together with no coordination.

This type of game play lends itself much better to an aggressive leader, and if not that then the members below that leadership team must have a lot of confidence in them to make it work. Without that and without good communication this will be much more of a hindrance than a help.

Seems like a lot of Allies seemed to like squad but Axis not so much.

Kind of why I made the poll, I was curious about the disparities.

Personally, it's alright, but alternating between them may be a better idea.
