Simply navigate to

C:\Users\MotherShip\Documents\Battlefield 3\settings\PROF_SAVE_profile

Then open the file with WordPad and find "GstRender.FieldOfView" and change the value to the right of it (should be something like 90.00000000) your desired FOV (120.0000 for example)

Once this is done start a game of battlefield3 and when the could storage notification appears be sure to select LOCAL data.

What is everyone's fov set to because I have no idea what it does so mine is just at 90

I use default (which is 90, ye?), and personally find it just fine. It's a personal preference sorta thing. Thanks for the guide, Tanner!

I have a 27 inch 1920x1080 monitor, sit approximately 1-2 feet from it, and have my FOV set to 120. Having a higher FOV adds peripheral vision while making objects appear smaller at a distance.

default is actually 70 (90 is maximum without this trick).

Remember guys playing with low FOV is akin to playing with blinders on. It is important to find the perfect balance for your monitor/sitting position.

Thanks for the tip, bro! I use a 23" but the 120 works for me at the expense of seeing things a little farther. The peripheral is worth it, imo.

i use 75fov cause i can hear things to my sides or just have that feeling there is someone in my blind spot.

hmm, I presume it requires a game restart to take effect?

Otherwise, might be interesting to look into writing a script that can change it on the fly... lower it for sniping when distance is needed, widen on assault, etc.

It'd be kind of like focusing your eyes vs. uhm, not focusing... don't know what to call that.

Anyway, thanks for the tip Tanner!! Will mess around with it as I log in tonight.

EDIT:
It seems it does need the restart :facewall: Not that surprising though.

Couldn't get used to 120, but 95 is looking awesome here :)

I think I'll stick with 70, then. To be honest, it's how I've learned to play, and adjusting it would screw me up, if only temporarily.
