Hey guys,

Has been a while since I've made a post on the forums,

But I might upgrade my desktop with about 400 euro/dollar.

But Im just wondering what rig/pc specs you guys have, and on what settings
you play. (low/med/high/ultra).

Is the Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 good enough for Bf3 high/ultra settings?

Let me know;)

Case: Cooler Master 690 II Advanced
Motherboard: Biostar TP67B+
CPU: Intel Core i3-2100 @ 3.1 GHz (Sandy Bridge)
GPU: EVGA Superclocked GeForce GTX 460 1024MB (Fermi)
RAM: 12GB DDR3-1333 (2 x 2GB Patriot Sector 5/2 x 4GB Kingston hyperX blu)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint HD103SJ 1TB @ 7200 rpm
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster S20A350B 20" widescreen (1600x900 resolution)

I play using those specs on high with about 4x AA, and have my digital vibrance turned all the up to 100% in the card settings.

My Specs: Who cares, they're bad :)
Settings ingame: All high
Framerate range: 40-60

A 560 is good, but a 560Ti is leaps and bounds better, since a 560 is essentially a overclocked 460. My 460 can reach 560 clocks and I spent a fraction of the price.

Dont think they are bad if you have 40-60, im curious, let me know;)

But, if a 560 is an overclocked 460. Then a 480 would be better than the 560, or is that incorrect?

CPU: Intel i5-750 (1st gen i5) (overclocked from 2.66 to 3.6)
Mobo: Foxconn Inferno Katana GTI (bought before they got the media's attention...)
RAM: 2x2GB Corsair XMS3 (mid-range 1600)
GPU: GTX260 (216 core edition vs. 192 core standard)
HDD: 1GB 7200rpm (load times are garbage)
OS: Win 7 Pro 64bit

I play on low/medium and get frames 30-60fps, but I've needed an OS reinstall for a while now.

About to buy a SSD maybe this week or next, and looking to get another 2x2 of the exact RAM I have if the price is right where I get my SSD. Wish I could justify spending for a GTX570 or something around there.

Ultra, runs great.

The 560 should work fine.

i7 860 OC'd to 3.4
560Ti OC'd to 950/1900
16gb ram

high at a solid 60fps (vsync enabled), it's been a while since I tried ultra but the fps drop was more than was worth it

*edit - just remembered, I haven't been OC'd on either CPU or GPU for the last 3 weeks or so, still pinned at 60 fps

my specs are in my sig, but to play BF3 on all ultra settings you need a video card with around 1500MB of vram, but one 560 should be able to play given decent RAM and processor, high settings should be pretty attainable with some ultra settings as well. I play on all ultra settings except for msaa and ultra textures.

Battlelog and Origin are giant resource hogs which initially require a lot of data just to start up the game. I recommend an SSD with SLC memory if you have at least 8GB of RAM and a good video card already. I can't stress how long you'll be waiting to start your game with a mechanical drive.

intel q830 @2.5ghz (cant overclock and yes i know old stuff)
8GB DDR2 RAM
1 TB 7200rpm seagate HDD
NVIDIA GTX560ti @900mhz
ASUS P5------ mobo (i forget the exact name)
650w antec psu

i can do high but not ultra (random drops during my kamikaze missions)

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9660 @ 2.83 Ghz
Ram: 6.00 gig DDR2
windows 7 pro 64 bit
MSI P7N SLI mother board
GeForce GTX 550 TI G clock 981 P clock 1962

Runs on High just great, does ultra but can chug at some points.

Intel i7 950
Ram: 8 GB Patriot
Windows 7
Motherboard: P6T V2 Deluxe
Sapphire 6970

I run everything on low just so i can get a solid 115 fps but on ultra i run around 65-75 fps

stop exaggerating, they are not thjat big of resource hogs. Chrome, origin and bf3 was using about 500-700 mb of ram. thats nothing when you got a good amount of ram. even with 4 gb ram it aint gonna hurt you. also it took a whole 3 mins for me to deploy with an sata hdd (not sata 3gb or 6 gb either. took me about as long to load and be able to deploy in a server as it does for me to go from menu to playing in sp mode for far cry 2.

see my sig for my box's specs

i mostly play the campaign but here goes, laptop specs (desktop handles it, but graphics are meh.

i7-2670qm 2.2 - 2.9turbo
16gigs ram
gtx570M 1.5 dedicated
twin 500gb striped in raid0

To be honest while the 460 can reach 560 clocks it does so at an absurdly hotter core temp. I wish i had spent the money for a 560 but it does get the job done and I get 60 - 90 fps when combined with a 3.1 GHz Hex core processor.

Mine stays are fairly cool temperature, especially since I added some fans to this old case of mine. It idles in the 40s and sits at the 70s under high load. Even with that being said, it drops quickly after I stop playing, unlike my 8800gt, which would stay hot for at least 30 minutes.

That's nice... but I'm pointing out load times on initial start up of BF3 and its support applications. There's a ton of youtube speed comparisons if you want a better idea of SSD vs mechanical drives.
