Ok everyone, get out your wish list.

I'm thinking about starting a build on my next computer. If money were no object, even though it is, what would you use? Include chassis to graphics card and everything in between.

Computer to be used for media, work , and gaming.

Hopefully I'll be able to use some of these ideas.

Just give me a price on how much you want to spend and ill give you a sweet computer 8)

Well you make no mention of money, so I'll make my budget $1152.81 + tax & shipping.

Thermaltake Armor Series VA8003BWS: $125 after rebate

ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP LGA 775 Intel P35: $150

Conroe E6850 @3.0GHz | 1333 FSB: $270

Barracuda 500GB @7200rpm | 3.0GB/s: $132

2x1GB 240pin | ddr2 1066 | pc2 8500 RAM from Corsair: $70 after rebate

2x nice pair of cd/dvd burners w/lightscribe: $70

8800GT from Asus: $215

I'm sure I forgot something I just can't figure out what it is...

Current setup: $1032 + tax & shipping + whatever it is that I forgot.

Good rig but i'd change the 8600's to one 8800GT or GTS,the 8600's are not really great unless you stick to older games.

Just my 2 cents.

thats exactly right, the 8600' are horrible cards for the price, expecially SLI , if you are tight on money atleast get a 9600gt or an 8800GS, Even 8800GT, but deffinitely not an 8600.

Thanks Kev. I have a 8800gt alreaddy and could swap it out. I may send you a pm to see if you like to put one togetther for me when i'm ready.

Alrighty, well hmm. What would I have... Well I know for sure these parts but the rest I gotta look into

Radeon 3870X2 or wait for the Radeon 4800
3GB DDR3 1024MHz or 1800MHz RAM
500GB-1TB Sata 10,000 RPM
Blu-Ray and HDDVD Reader/Burner
Intel Core 2 Quad-Extreme 3.0GHz-4.0GHz
Windows Vista SP1
an Antec Mirrored Case
750 Watt PSU

and other components meh, bored already... alright here's some minor advertising cuse I'm bored, my friend owns a company, sells computer parts and fully built computers, HDrive.ca, fill out the service form and he'll accommodate you for many needs such as web design, hosting, computer building and so on
