Hey guys, I am opening up my fantasy sports leagues to any EdgeGamer who is interested. There is no cost associated, however, if any eGO member wins a season, I will bless them with a prestigious sig. award you can use if you wish. THERE IS NOW some rewards for 1st and 2nd place winners (see below). This upcoming season is for the 2012 MLB Season, which starts next week. If you are into baseball I encourage you to join us :)

Hey boys and girls,

I have decided to expand my fantasy sports into baseball this year after successful years in Football and Hockey. I am opening this league up to a select organization (eGO) to participate in this year for added competition. The 2012 season is set to start next week which is a fairly short notice, but given the expressed interest of a few I hope many of you will join us this season.

A live draft is scheduled for Sunday, March 25 at 3:00pm for anyone who is interested in the team selection process. This is NOT a mandatory draft, however, if you miss the draft you are putting your team in the hands of an auto-draft robot (which usually isn't so bad).

Take a moment to look over the rules and stat categories. I have removed the maximum acquisition cap and limited it to 4 per week. There is also a cap of 18 teams, but this may decrease if there is insufficient teams prior to week 1. If you have any questions, please send me a private message or email.

also it would be amazing to see the Cardinals go back to the playoffs, that would be epic, then again, they might make it to the 2012 World Series then die out, considering they do have the Rangers former head coach

I have to miss the draft, I'll be sleeping, its gonna be at 4am here on a Monday, guess I have to count on the auto draft thing to get me Pujols and Carpenter
 
Looks cool but i dont know much of baseball if i would join one it would be of basketball

Hey lapse,

Well, basically if you are a beginner at it then I would encourage you to at least check up on it from time to time. Fantasy leagues are always a fun little hobby to get into if you enjoy sports. You basically create an "all-star" team from all active players in a given sport.

Each week those players stats are recorded and added up for a week's total. If your team accumulates more points than the team you are against for that week, you'll get the win. Win's are tracked throughout the season and can qualify you for a post-season (playoff) if you do well.

The only maintaining that may happen is switching players out who aren't playing or who get injured with other active players. But I've seen people who just create a team, don't maintain it, and end up doing fairly well (makes me mad). You can also trade and waive players, but that is usually for more advance users.

OH one more thing,

how long are the seasons? are we talking a whole baseball season(162 games) or a per-determined number?

Fantasy leagues usually run about until a week before the end of season.

This is such a good idea FPS, but prepare for The Jomi-Rockers (my team) to destroy in some fake online digital fantasy baseball league action!
