For those old school (1990's) games, you may remember a series of games from Access Software based around a hard boiled PI named Tex Murphy. They have been trying to revive it for a while, but with no luch. With the success of Tim Shaffer and Kickstarter they are making one last attempt to bring the character back from oblivion. See the below video link.

I did not play anything involving Tex Murphy unfortunately.

I just wanted to chime in and say old developers using kickstarter to make remakes of their old amazing games is something that I hope trends big time.

Seriously, the potential for awesome is huge.

Tex Murphy is an old school adventure game from the mid-90's that used full motion actors for the cut-scenes but a 3d enviroment for the world. It focused on puzzle solving and deductive skills. The main character, Tex, was a hard boild PI in the Raymond Chandler style who lived in a slummy neighborhood of old San Francisco in 2046 after the Third world War. Normally he is hired for some mundane case that turns intoa save the world kind of case, for which he gets zero appreciation for. The series was famous for quick wit, challenge and a great noir feel to it. Unfortunately the genre it is part of died arounf 1997-1998 with the introduction of the "Doom/Quake" generation of developers. Only recently has this 'point and click' style made a comeback, i.e. LA Noire, Legend of Monkey Island, ect.
