Awhile ago Jeremy over at NWI announced Insurgency 2. They had a pod setup at GDC Play 2012 where they showcased the Alpha. Here is some footage they released

I hope they have the classic game modes 2
If they keep fixing on it it can be awsome :D

...It looks sweet but... I don't like it. At least, I know it's not an official version... but there's too much movement in there, unlike in the 1st Insurgency.

This is being developed by Jeremy Blum & NWI. He was part of the team who made the original, along with Red Orchestra. This IS official, he also owns the trademarks and rights to Insurgency the series.

I know the mod itself is ''official'' but it said so in the video, it's not the official version of the expected result. I see too much movement in there, it's like HL2 DeathMatch with Real Damage and Ironsights.

Ahh, I see. I thought you meant that it wasn't actually apart of the series. You mean it's pre-alpha etc footage. :)

NIW still work on the movements. Tester raport it to them so dont wory Jeremy said that realism is very important to him.

I am concerned though about the fact its in a small development studio point is they will never have the funding to advertise it well enough, and whitout a hyped advertising the game wont pick up when it comes out.
And whitout players no fun.... So i hope all the ins vets will buy it and there's good enough advertisement directed to hardcore realism shooters, and hopefully ego will support it ;).

Well in my opinion they will get some investments who will help in advertise.

Looks cool...But they should just stick with Insurgency 1. They are all certainly moving way to fast, specially in crouch position.....and seriously an mp40 on the Insurgents team?........
