bf3 stopped working...need help

hmm... awc.dll problem.. weird.

From what I've found so far, the quickest fix is to use "run as admin" when launching BF3.

Not sure why the problem would just have appeared but some seem to say it's an adobe air problem. You could check to make sure any adobe products you have going are up to date. Pretty sure I just disabled anything from adobe that launches automatically at boot using msconfig. I'll let adobe know when I need them :).

Some say they were able to go through Origin, right-click BF3 and repair it. Seems like mixed results though.

Which browser are you using?
 
using chrome and never had an issue with the beta or the actual game till yesterday....its pretty random. i updated adobe air, i read that somewhere on the internet...i have already re-installed the game 3 times and repaired a countless amount

i will try to disable that crap on start up and see what happens

If you don't see it on the shortcut itself:

Go to your main drive (guessing C).
Program Files x86 folder
Origin Games folder
Battlefield 3 folder
you should see the icon for bf3.exe --> right-click -->properties
Compatibility tab
Towards the bottom there is a checkbox for "run as admin"

That should make it so it will run as admin every time you use your shortcut.

If you're already re-formatting, sometimes a scorched earth policy is just so satisfying :)

yea it didnt work....and i even talked to 2 ea peeps and they couldnt help me out either, so i said F it :facewall: and reformatted

Try going into the start menu, then going to run, and searching for Services.msc.. Then from there got o UnPn i think it what its called and stop it, then go to Service Discovery or whatever its called somewhat similar and stop that also... Try that
 
^^^^^^^^^^^ tried that also, i just reformatted and everything is good now... still dont understand how everything can be fine, then all of the sudden it doesnt work. i didnt install anything different of adjust anything anywhere.. its odd
