I myself, am an avid reader. When I was in the 2nd grade, I was tested at reading at a 7th grade level.

in third grade i was reading at an 11th grade level

i remember reading the whole lotr trilogy in a weekend (still makes me mad that tom bombadil wasnt included in the first movie, i mean that was the more enjoyable part)

I read Sherlock Holmes like it's a holy book. You don't understand. Not only have I read the entire two volume set at leas 5 times, a total of around 1200 pages (per time), but I have a leather-bound, gilded, single volume copy in my room. It's a tome. It's amazing. I want to build a shrine for it. Other than Conan Doyle I love reading the classics, as well as classical philosophy. Seems I only read terribly dry things, but they're fascinating. Sorry about the Holmes rant. I'm a wee bit obsessed.

Been hauling (20) 60#lb cartons of books coast-to-coast-desert for 10 years ... finally gave them a home last month. mostly reference books, how-to-manuals, and technical textbooks.

I read Sci-fi, fantasty (the good stuff, like the Diskworld books), and manga.

I used to read all the time when I was younger, but nowadays not so much. Video games are too addicting. I have a whole slew of manga I am currently reading and waiting for the chapters weekly, but right now what I'm reading is the best science fiction novel of all time... "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" by Robert A. Heinlein. I also have a bunch of other books lying around that I pick up every once and a while and read.

I know that if I never got into video games, I'd probably be a bibliomaniac on par with those in the anime "Read Or Die." Anyone watch that classic? Good stuff.
