I hear almost daily players say bf is more realist than dod. Am I missing some thing or am I the only one who has been in the army? You see I never saw a foot soldier jump into a plane and fly it or a chopper , or even a tank, these positions are for qualified people only so where is the realistic part in these fantasy games? Perhaps in todays army it's all about multi tasking. Yea lets turn back the clock.

I hear what you are saying. I think what people really mean is that the game looks realistic. The visuals are beautiful in the game and they look real but the gameplay is hardly that. No game will be "realistic" in the sense that we would like it. There are several games that try hard to emulate the mechanics of real life combat and those would be the old Operation Flashpoint and the newer ArmA games. if you want real, join the the military.

Much more realistic game to BF3 and the BF thing is ARMA. ARMA with a few mods is one of the more realistic FPS games i have seen that represents modern combat fighting. Reason is what other game makes you put in ear plugs when a flash bang go off, put glasses on or the sand gets in your eyes, makes you carry a specific amount or your guy is to fat and slow. DODS represents a good showing of ww1 ww2 fighting. While ARMA in my opinion shows modern combat.
